Grand Final Wrap

Well the dust has settled on another thrilling Downs Rugby Grand Final weekend.

The B Grade clash was a nail biter, and while it wasn’t the result we hoped for it was another outstanding game between the Frillies and our Emus. These two teams always seem to produce high quality battles everytime they meet and it’s a joy to watch. Congratulations Frillnecks St George Rugby Union Club on your victory.
Needless to say we are extremely proud of the season, Jay, John and our B Grade men put together.

A Grade were locked in from the first whistle and played with unbelievable intensity and hunger to win. It was physical affair as every encounter with the Echidnas has been this season. We’d like to congratulate the Roma Echidnas on a stellar season!
While A Grade scored an impressive 38 points it was their 2nd half defensive effort that was most impressive! Congratulations Jamo & team, for bringing home our 17th Risdon Cup!

A big thank you to all the Emu Supporters that showed out to get behind our lads!
