Itโs with genuine disappointment that we inform everyone that the Summer Barrel Racing Series cannot proceed.
The Southern Downs Regional Council has advised us that holding events on our property, in our arena, is unlawful and we are not permitted to continue operating barrel racing events. We have been directed to stop immediately, and unfortunately there are no options available for us to move forward at this time.
This is incredibly disappointing for us, especially after all the work, planning, and improvements that have gone into preparing the arena, the lighting and building the series.
The opening jackpot was so well received, and we sincerely appreciate the support weโve had from competitors, families, sponsors, and the broader community.
We are so sad that something that has so little external impact, and such a large support from locals, businesses & community, would be stopped by the local council.
To our sponsors, we recognise and appreciate your contribution to local inclusive events. Your contribution does not go unnoticed. All sponsorship funds will be refunded.
We are currently seeking guidance to understand if there are any possible steps from here, and we will keep everyone updated if we are able to ascertain any movement in the councils ruling.
