Many thanks to all the Players, Coaches and support staff from all over Australia donating their time for our annual game.

Special thanks to Tom McKay and the wonderful crew at McKay United Crane Hire who have been involved as a SPONSOR of our game since day one, bloody unbelievable, who were a TEAM SPONSOR of the Victorian / All-Stars.

Many thanks also to Jumper Sponsors -

KFC Geelong (Scott Hosking)
DB & JS Constructions (Justin Savage)
Geelong Chimney Sweep (Steve OO)

What a super job this crew did in Game 14!

Without these people we don't have a game.

Many thanks to Dion Planken (METRICON) who sponsor the Umpires in the Geelong Football Netball League for organizing (7) of the umpires and "RELIVE THE RIVALRY" flew both Lindsay Roberts and Kevin Patmore over for the game who are our two longest serving umpires.

A huge thanks to LRF Sport PTY LTD for supplying the wonderful apparel.

Pleased to announce that Game 13 of “RELIVE THE RIVALRY” raised $30,000 which has already been passed on to our (2) charities in Foodbank Tasmania and Bay Leaf Kitchen.

This is not possible without the wonderful
support of many Sponsors including our NAMING RIGHT SPONSORS Davis Contracting Building Group and Lineage, Inc. and KEY SPONSOR Metricon. We are also so grateful for McKay United Crane Hire and Avis Australia who have been Sponsors/Partners since day one in March 2012.

A huge thank you also needs to also go out to all of our Jumper Sponsors, Short and Umpire sponsors.

A special mention needs to go to our APPAREL PARTNERS LRF Sport PTY LTD, who have been super for us for nearly 10 years.

Without your Sponsorship simply this annual game doesn’t happen.

To our coaching staff (Tasmania and Victorian / All-Stars) players and officials - thanks for donating your time.

To our Melbourne “Working” party - Mark, Mel, Kim, Andrew and Shaun - thanks for your support and efforts behind the scenes and around game time.

Finally a big thank you to our Hobart crew - Natasha, Leesa, Craig, Shaun and Natasha for all your support and assistance with this great exercise taking the game to the mainland.

Game 13 was fantastic for a lot of reasons and we now look forward to pushing on and preparing for Game 14 on Saturday 16th October 2027.

Please remember, when you get a chance -

PLEASE SUPPORT THOSE

TASMANIAN COACH - ANDY LOVELL’s THOUGHTS ON GAME 13

Another amazing “RELIVE THE RIVALRY”game in a beautiful coastal town on the Bellarine Peninsula at Queenscliff.

A good crowd , good weather and some scintillating football from some Legend
players of years past.

The game was played in wonderful spirit as always with a mix of recently retired guns and more than a handful of fossils on both sides.

The game ebbed and flowed across all 4
quarters with plenty of goals scored which is what the crowd came to see.

Full credit to the great “RAT” Bews, he and his boys really took it up to us. I’ll take my hat off to our lads who played with the Tassie spirit.

It never ceases to amaze me that so many people give of their time to put on this show year and year out.

Full credit must go to Jaimes and his team for their tireless work in bringing the showcase together.

Finally. what a wonderful tribute to the great Paul Atkins , gone way too soon he was the spirit and the heart and soul of this game it’ll never be the same but it will live on in his memory for as long as we can all run around.

Long live the Rivalry!

After 3 years as Non-Playing Victorian / All-Stars (VAS) Coach ANDREW BEWS has decided to stand down.

“RAT” has been a super addition to our game since playing his one and only game at Penguin’s Dial Park, a few days out before Covid 19’struck.

Shortly afterwards we were fortunate to secure Andrew as the VAS Coach.

Andrew has fitted in so well, with his great sense of humour and love for the great game.

We are pleased to announce that he won’t be lost to our game, figuring in another off-field role as we move forward.

Thanks “RAT”!

A “SPECIAL” thanks needs to go out to a new SPONSOR in Game 13 - Metricon.

They came onboard as a KEY SPONSOR and their efforts behind the scenes to go above and beyond was brilliant.

For the game to secure a mainland wide company’s support was huge. Some of their extra support included -

* Introduced BAY LEAF COMMUNITY KITCHEN to our gane - a wonderful charity

* Organised the printing of our Match Day Program

* Assisted in providing the majority of the umpires for our game

* Supplied volunteers on the day to assist with various roles

Maybe the biggest contribution was organising a 2-Page story up in the front section of the AFL Preliminary Final Records, which has the potential opportunity to open doors , moving forward.

Many thanks to Dion and Mel for your special efforts particularly in the last few weeks leading into the game.

To METRICON and Dion thank you, we hope you enjoyed the experience and we continue to develop our relationship moving forward.

A big thank you must go out to PETER GEE who hosted our pre-match and after match functions and even a chat with Tasmanian and AFLW Star JESS WUETSCHNER’at 3/4 time on Grand Finak day at the Drysdale Hotel.

Peter is well known in Victoria for his commentary on VFA Football and in Tasmania not only commentating State League Football, but also hosting ABC News in Tasmania.

Peter these days, does some super charity work and we were very grateful to have, had him involved with Game 13.
