Southern Touch - delivering Touch Football in Hobart for over 40 years

We're excited to welcome our juniors back for another season of Touch! We've expanded this junior season from 10 rounds to 12, giving the kids even more opportunities to play.

Our Try10s have their last session Thursday, and will start their U10s competition next week.

Throughout the Junior season, various clubs will be running a BBQ each Thursday, so make sure to pop by, grab a feed and support them to continue investing back into the touch community.

As a special 'welcome back' treat, we're excited to announce Miss Whippy will also be in attendance!

Touch Footy, Sausage Sizzle and Icecreams.... what a way to kick off the junior comp.

It's not just limited to the below categories either, whether you're looking Men's, Women's, Mixed or Juniors, get in touch and we'll connect you with a team.

Keen to try, but not sure about a full season? No affiliation fees are payable for the first match for newcomers. Must contact [email protected] to take advantage of this offer.

Our 6.10pm matches are currently off the field due to the storm passing over.

Our 7.05 matches will be pushed back to a 7.30pm start at this stage.

Given the unpredictable nature of this, and the need to ensure safety of everyone, this may change further, however we are hopeful all matches will still be able to be completed.

Welcome Liam to Southern Touch!

Liam is excited to be expanding his experience in the sports industry, having worked with Glenorchy Football Club for 5 years, and has been an Aussie Rules umpire since he was 10 years old.

"I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and hope I can contribute to a great match-day experience."

Liam will be running competition nights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, so pop in and say hello.

Rosters are now published and are available at either https://southerntouch.com.au/fixtures-results/ or via the TFA website.

Some minor adjustments may be necessary to accommodate the referee schedule, so please ensure you continue to check prior to next week's matches.

Rosters have been scheduled to try to ensure all teams play across different timeslots and grounds. Please contact [email protected] if there appear to be any significant errors or oversights.

Southern Touch’s 2026 Annual General Meeting is happening tomorrow night!

The AGM is an opportunity to reflect on the year that’s been, hear about what’s ahead for Southern Touch, and have your say in the future direction of the Association.

We encourage everyone with an interest in Southern Touch and its future to come along and get involved.

In July this year, we were advised that Clarence City Council’s ground hire fees would increase by 27% for seniors and 56% for juniors.

For many sporting associations these increases add tens of thousands of dollars to annual operating expenses - costs that ultimately need to be passed on to participants.

In solidarity with fellow Clarence Community Sporting Clubs we are proud to stand alongside them in calling on Clarence City Council to work genuinely with community sport to keep participation accessible and affordable, and to recognise the important role sporting clubs and organisations play in the Clarence community.

This Sunday, we’re asking the Southern Touch community to stand with us.

You’re invited to attend the rally at Clarence on the Bay, Kangaroo Bay, and help demonstrate to Clarence City Council, and those seeking election, the importance of a genuine partnership between Council and its sporting community.

The more clubs, participants, families and supporters who turn up, the stronger that message will be.
