Another exciting week of movement, teamwork and confidence building is ready to go! 🌟

Our Active Autism Bootcamp is designed for children aged 7–11 years, providing a safe, supportive and neuro-affirming environment where every child can enjoy being active, challenge themselves and have fun at their own pace. πŸ’›

Here's what's in store this week:
πŸ”₯ Follow the Leader
We'll kick things off with our energetic warm-up featuring:
✨ Arm swings
✨ Toe taps
✨ Side steps
✨ Star jumps

Children can follow the facilitator's movements, and anyone who'd like to can even have a turn leading the group! 🌟

🏐 Ultimate Dodgeball (Fit Ball Edition)

This week's big game is all about movement, teamwork and quick thinking!

Children will:
πŸƒ Dodge a large rolling fit ball
πŸ’ͺ Complete a quick movement challenge if tagged
🀝 Join the outside team to help roll the ball
πŸŽ‰ Cheer each other on while staying active in a fun and supportive way!

With a large rolling ball instead of throwing, the game stays safe, predictable and full of laughs! 😊

πŸ₯’ Pickleball Fun
We'll introduce one of the world's fastest-growing sports in a simple, playful way!

Children will:
πŸ“ Rally the ball back and forth with a partner
🎯 Practise aiming and coordination
🀝 Work together to build longer rallies
🌟 Celebrate every successful hit and every great effort!

🧘 Stretch & Cool Down
We'll finish with calming stretches and breathing exercises to help everyone leave feeling relaxed, regulated and proud of themselves after another fantastic session. πŸ’™

This week we're focusing on CLIMBING πŸ§— while introducing our Sport of the Week: Volleyball! 🏐

Here's what our little legends can look forward to:
🌈 Free Play Obstacle Course
Children are invited to explore at their own pace while building strength and confidence through climbing activities, including:
✨ Stepping onto low blocks
✨ Climbing over soft play equipment
✨ Exploring wooden climbing frames
✨ Safe climbing challenges with mats underneath
✨ Plenty of opportunities to move, explore and grow!

Every activity is encouraged, never expected, giving children the freedom to participate in a way that feels safe and enjoyable for them. πŸ’™

🏐 Volleyball Skills

This week's sport is all about introducing volleyball through fun, playful activities!
We'll be exploring:
🏐 Throwing or tapping a soft ball over a net
πŸ™Œ Catching and throwing with a parent or facilitator
🎈 Keeping a balloon or ball in the air together
🌟 Building coordination, teamwork and confidence while having lots of fun!

🎯 We'll finish the session with:
🧘 Stretching and a calm goodbye to help everyone leave feeling relaxed, regulated and proud of everything they've achieved.

Over the past year, Active Autism has built Jayden’s love of being active and his confidence ❀️ Today he ran his first Parkrun!
