ππ Bootcamp Week 6 is here! ππ
Another exciting week of movement, teamwork and confidence building is ready to go! π
Our Active Autism Bootcamp is designed for children aged 7β11 years, providing a safe, supportive and neuro-affirming environment where every child can enjoy being active, challenge themselves and have fun at their own pace. π
Here's what's in store this week:
π₯ Follow the Leader
We'll kick things off with our energetic warm-up featuring:
β¨ Arm swings
β¨ Toe taps
β¨ Side steps
β¨ Star jumps
Children can follow the facilitator's movements, and anyone who'd like to can even have a turn leading the group! π
π Ultimate Dodgeball (Fit Ball Edition)
This week's big game is all about movement, teamwork and quick thinking!
Children will:
π Dodge a large rolling fit ball
πͺ Complete a quick movement challenge if tagged
π€ Join the outside team to help roll the ball
π Cheer each other on while staying active in a fun and supportive way!
With a large rolling ball instead of throwing, the game stays safe, predictable and full of laughs! π
π₯ Pickleball Fun
We'll introduce one of the world's fastest-growing sports in a simple, playful way!
Children will:
π Rally the ball back and forth with a partner
π― Practise aiming and coordination
π€ Work together to build longer rallies
π Celebrate every successful hit and every great effort!
π§ Stretch & Cool Down
We'll finish with calming stretches and breathing exercises to help everyone leave feeling relaxed, regulated and proud of themselves after another fantastic session. π

We're so excited to welcome everyone back for another week of movement, confidence building and lots of fun! π
This week we're focusing on CLIMBING π§ while introducing our Sport of the Week: Volleyball! π
Here's what our little legends can look forward to:
π Free Play Obstacle Course
Children are invited to explore at their own pace while building strength and confidence through climbing activities, including:
β¨ Stepping onto low blocks
β¨ Climbing over soft play equipment
β¨ Exploring wooden climbing frames
β¨ Safe climbing challenges with mats underneath
β¨ Plenty of opportunities to move, explore and grow!
Every activity is encouraged, never expected, giving children the freedom to participate in a way that feels safe and enjoyable for them. π
π Volleyball Skills
This week's sport is all about introducing volleyball through fun, playful activities!
We'll be exploring:
π Throwing or tapping a soft ball over a net
π Catching and throwing with a parent or facilitator
π Keeping a balloon or ball in the air together
π Building coordination, teamwork and confidence while having lots of fun!
π― We'll finish the session with:
π§ Stretching and a calm goodbye to help everyone leave feeling relaxed, regulated and proud of everything they've achieved.

Over the past year, Active Autism has built Jaydenβs love of being active and his confidence β€οΈ Today he ran his first Parkrun! Together, with a lot of pretending to be Lightening McQueen (!!!), we overcame nerves, overwhelm, and change to achieve a huge goal and enjoy the experience ππ» You are my inspiration Jayden, and I love being your mumma β€οΈ

π Basketball Shooting Challenge
Time to test our aiming skills!
Children will:

π Free Play Obstacle Course Children are invited to explore at their own pace while enjoying a variety of crawling activities, including:
β¨ Crawling forwards and backwards on mats
β¨ Crawling through tunnels and under obstacles
β¨ Bear crawls
β¨ Weaving around cones
β¨ Fun obstacle pathways with plenty of opportunities to move and explore!
Every activity is encouraged, never expected, giving children the freedom to participate in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable for them. π
π Cricket Skills This week's sport is all about introducing cricket through fun, simple play!
We'll be exploring:
π Hitting a soft ball with a junior cricket bat
π― Rolling or bowling a ball towards stumps or large targets
π Chasing, stopping and catching soft balls
π Building coordination, confidence and teamwork while having lots of fun!
