The latest set of new cameras from the Dick Smith 2026 summer collection have just landed.

These are available at myairportcams.com right now and should be appearing in your favourite EFB shortly.

Many thanks again to Dick Smith for this latest donation and the service that it provides to all pilots and the general public.

Big news if you’re a fan of aviation weather cameras!

Following on from an initial donation of $10,000 to Aus Web Cams (myairportcams.com) and subsequent donations, Dick Smith has just made another $8,000 available to the weather camera network for expansion and maintenance. Weather cameras are a passion for Dick, having invested significantly in their expansion initially back in 2016. Dick’s passion for aviation safety has led to this latest donation and all of you out there can benefit from this. There’s a very real possibility that these cameras will save lives and if they haven’t already, they most likely will, not to mention the economic and environment savings as a result of the network.

Similarly to last time, if you are interested in cameras for your airport, hangar, club, location of interest to aviation etc, let us know! Please email us at [email protected] and be sure to let us know your contact details, proposed location and the reason why you think that adding cameras at your location would be beneficial to aviation safety in Australia! That’s it! Additionally, if you already have weather cameras, you can apply for more cameras, or to replace any faulty cameras that haven’t been fixed yet.

We have a range of equipment available, including regular cameras, night vision models, WiFi or PoE models, routers, 4G data plans, WiFi extenders, POE switches and replacement units for existing cameras.

Whilst we will provide the equipment free of charge, you would be responsible for the installation (usually done by a handy-person or potentially an electrician for more complex sites), however we do kindly ask that if you do accept the cameras, that you commit to installing them within a few months or return them to another site that might benefit from them immediately.

What are we requesting in return? We’d love for you to spread the word about how much you like using weather cameras and give us a thumbs up for the awesome generosity of Dick Smith yet again!

As always, once they are live, they will appear on myairportcams.com, Windy, Ventusky, Meteoblue and of course in your favourite EFB products, AvPlan EFB and OzRunways.

Many thanks and we look forward to reviewing your emails.

A brand new set of cameras have gone up this morning at YKII - King Island.

A HUGE thankyou to David Brewster and the King Island Aero Club for making this project come to life. David has been responsible for all of the cameras at Georgetown, King Island and another set coming in NW Tassie soon.

These cameras are another donation from Dick Smith in 2024 and we are nearing the end of Dick's sponsored installations.

They will most likely appear in your favourite EFB on Monday, however you can see them now at https://myairportcams.com

I'd like to share that I just won the Australian Aviation award for Aviation Safety Professional of the Year. A panel of 6 judges awarded me this prestigious honour from a group of 8 finalists.

This award is for the tireless work that I do to promote and enhance Aviation safety in Australia and the APAC region through the expansion of my aviation weather camera network. Helping me along the way are my wife and children and Dick Smith who is one of my biggest supporters, not to mention all of the contributors out there who purchase these cameras to be part of this ever-growing safety network.

Thanks everyone for your support.
