Dry Needling;
An included but completely optional addition to your myotherapy treatment, can involve single needles or a group of needles targeting one area. Dry needling is the practice of inserting fine needles into the body. Note that the “dry” aspect of dry needling means that no liquid is injected at any point.
The needles are typically placed in areas of knotted or tight muscle. The body responds by stimulating blood circulation and changes in the chemical balance and neural pathways. At this point, the body is starting its own healing process so that areas of muscle soreness and tension are naturally soothed away.
Dry needling is a great form of therapy for targeting particular muscular issues, as well as dealing with whole-body conditions such as fatigue and promoting optimum functioning for athletes and busy people on the go. It’s ideal combined with Remedial Massage as the knots and tense areas are then smoothed and massaged out.

While a stiff neck can be a nuisance, it usually isn’t a cause for panic. If the stiffness gets more extreme, however, it can lead to a sensation of the neck being “frozen” in place, limiting movement and significantly affecting your quality of life.
Fortunately, massage is one of the best alternative medicine approaches for treating neck stiffness. Massage is proven to improve both neck mobility and reduce neck pain.

With the daily habits and stresses we have is can be handy to have some tools on hand to ease out the tension in the comfort of home.
You can use a foam roller to help decompress the spine and lengthen tight tissues. A trigger point ball can be useful to get into those more specific spots.

Weighted step ups are a fantastic functional movement that engages the large muscles groups of the legs and glutes, while promoting stability through the knees and ankles as the body adjust with weight in motion. Improving stability and functionality are key aspects that help us prevent issues as we age, in particular tripping that leads to so many complications in the elderly.
