COLLINGWOOD PREVIEW

The Gun 🔫
Nick Daicos $631.4k MID
Off the back of a stellar 2024 campaign averaging 117.2 ppg which included 18 out of a possible 23 games with at least 100 points and 10 scores of 130+, Daicos once again looks to be a top prospect and safe captain choice in SuperCoach 2025.
However, injuries have plagued Daicos in the past resulting in poor scores and even missing games altogether. In addition to injury, Daicos has consistently received attention from other teams and must find a way to beat the tag if he wishes to improve upon his SuperCoach average in 2025. These risks are something that SuperCoachers will have to take into account when deciding whether to select Daicos in SuperCoach 2025 as a MID only losing his dual position DEF status.
Prediction: 115 average ✅

The Mid Pricer 🤔
Harry Perryman $417.5k DEF
After an offseason move to the Pies, Perryman looks to be an interesting choice for Supercaochers as an alternative mid priced option. An average of 75.5 in 2024 and only 1 score of 100+ may be a deterrent to some, but the upside potential may be worth the risk. Perryman did not record a CBA in 2024 with the Giants. Collingwood is in need of more midfield power and depth and Perryman could offer just that despite training in preseason as a wingman where he has played majority of his career thus far. If he can see consistent CBA action, it will be hard to not see him improving upon his average from 2024.
Prediction: 80 average ❌

The Rookie 💰
Ed Allan $194.0k MID
Allan has only played 2 AFL games but posted a Supercoach score of 94 with 65% CBA in the last game of the 2024 season against Melbourne which has SuperCoachers excited for his future. Scott Pendlebury has expressed his praise in particular for Allan over the preseason eluding to a greater role for the big bodied midfielder in 2025. Allan may not see an immediate start in the Pies engine room and may even pose a sub risk but could potentially be a nice downgrade option early into the season.
Prediction: 55 average ⚠️

Carlton Preview

The gun
Tom De Koning $547.1K Ruck
Perhaps one of the most intriguing SuperCoach prospects of this season. TDK was vital to Carltons engine room in 2024 and when given the reigns to sole ruck displayed some monster scores with a huge 176 against the cats in a best on ground performance. Unfortunately the big man’s season was cut short in round 19 but came back for the elimination final as sub and showcased instantly how much of a difference maker in the middle he was. The big thing will be how often pitto plays which is anyone’s guess right now. The other thing is it’s a contract year and clubs are already having a sniff so thats going to be watched with interest. If TDK is named as sole ruck in round 1 he will be hard to ignore I’ll be passing on him for now as I think pittonet will play a fair bit but keeping close tabs on this.
Prediction 90 average if pitto plays regularly if not can easily see him pushing 110. Verdict 95 average ❌

The mid pricer
Adam Cerra $447.7k Mid
Another interesting one this year is the forgotten man in Carlton’s engine room
Cerra had a fair share of injury concerns in 2024 and just couldn’t get any consistency in his game leading to 12 games played 2 of those games ending with him subbed out. While the injury concerns are a major factor in deciding whether or not to start him Cerra spent the off season travelling to the Middle East to consult a specialist and hopefully fix his hamstrings a method that’s had good results for other players. In 2023 Cerra averaged 108 and before his injury late in the season was arguably Carlton’s best player. At 447k the departure of Kennedy and just now hitting his prime age im backing him in for a big year currently in my side and excited by the prospects of the value he brings he is a great option for coaches and hopefully starts off with a bang against the tigers.
Verdict 105 average ✅

The rookie
Jagga Smith 194.5k Mid
The absolute ball winning mid is a must start for 2025. All through juniors Jagga has been a ball magnet posting some monster scores eclipsing over 40 disposals regularly He will have no problem slotting straight into the midfield and adding a much needed spark into the midfield. The only concerns will be his size against the big boys but his Footy IQ and speed through traffic will be sure to make him deliver i the top level and leaves me confident he will be an instant SuperCoach must start.
Verdict 80 average ✅

BRISBANE PREVIEW

The Premo
Dayne Zorko $595.1K
Zorko had arguably a career best year and was influential in Brisbane ultimately winning the Flag at 36 he showed no signs of slowing down averaging a cool 110. Zorko once again will be a good option for our sides but playing in round 0 and having the early bye plus the injury history and the lions welcoming back Coleman I’ll be avoiding for now maybe an after bye target. Still most coaches should feel comfortable starting with him.
Verdict 105 ave ✅

The Mid Pricer
Will Ashcroft $441.2K
The Norm Smith medalist will be a popular selection this year and it’s not hard to understand why he was absolutely instrumental in the lions winning the flag looked a class above in the grand final. Ashcroft started slower on his return from injury but once he found his step back posted scores of 129,92 and 115 to finish the H&A season giving us glimpses of the talent he possesses. Severely underpriced at just 82 it’s easy to justify starting him. For the same reasons as Zorko with the early bye I won’t be starting but if he goes large against the cats in opening round I might have to squeeze him in.
Prediction 95-100 average ✅

The Rookie
Levi Ashcroft $185.5K
It’s insane to think the reigning premiers have added arguably the best player from the draft but it’s true. Levi is a freak and should play straight away tipped to be as good as his brother if not better once again it’s easy to see the appeal here a accumulating midfielder with silky skills he has all the tools to be a SuperCoach stud and make us some serious cash. I’m actually going agaisnt the grain and won’t be starting him as I believe the Brisbane Lions midfield will be just too hard to crack into barring injuries, Plus the early bye and a multitude of options around the same price I’ll be avoiding for now but once again if he looks the goods and has a nice role early maybe one I look to squeeze In. Definitely a decent option for coaches to start the young 🦁
Prediction 70 average

ADELAIDE Preview

The Premo
Izak Rankine $521.6k FWD
Rankine has always oozed class and had serious talent and 2024 showcased just how much via a move to the midfield putting 4 100+ in 6 weeks with a huge 142 against the premiers followed up by a 125 against the pies which unfortunately in the last minute tore his hamstring. Rankine came back after the injury and picked up where he left off but unfortunately got suspended in round 17
Rankine would only play 2 more games for the year and in the last round he got concussed and finished on just 49 SuperCoach without this score he averaged a tick over 100. In 2025 he has room to boost that number and apparently been training mainly midfield again while he has talent and can be pushed forward at times his ability and talent in the midfield means Adelaide will want to keep him in the action making him a fantastic option for your forward lines.
Prediction 105 average ✅

The Mid Pricer
James Peatling $352.8k Mid
The former Giant was wanted from many clubs over the offseason and it’s not hard to see why the tough nut was in and out of the giants side all season but from round 19 onwards really showcased just how good he could be with a regular spot in the side. He had 3 scores of 90 and 2 tons from round 19 onwards and priced at 65 average theres money to be made. Been training on the wing and getting some CBA action peatling should be able to push a 90 average comfortably. I think he is a serious option most coaches should be considering.
Prediction 95 average ✅

The Rookie
Sid Draper $190k mid
The south Australian young gun clearly has serious talent and should see regular action at the crows this year. Draper offers a unique point of difference for the crows contested mids and I can see by seasons end him being a regular attendee at most centre bounces. Draper has had a little bit of interrupted preseason with a couple of injury concerns but is tracking well for a round 1 debut he is definitely a great option if named for round 1 but due to the logjam in Adelaide’s midfield mix he is a wait and see for me.
Prediction 65-70 average 🤔
