Pooncarie update for #120

While Dale and Mark were out front having a dream run unfortunately Myself and Michael had a weekend to forget.

It started well with 4th in prologue only to have a small issue in lap 1 that put us out. Never the less we were set to have some fun Sunday and get some miles under our belt.

Unfortunately not far from the start we had an impact in some ruts that put a big shock through the car and also through Michael's back. After stopping on the side of the track it was obvious that he had injured his back badly and we needed to get some medical attention straight away.

Luckily we had pulled up next to the most helpful recovery crew ever. With an ex MICA paramedic on hand we were able to get him back to the pit area safely and in the hands of the medical crew.

From there a trip to Mildura hospital and finally came back to Melbourne via a medical flight on Monday.

Michael wanted me to let everyone know he is doing well and is in the best hands possible. With a fractured vertebrae he will have a recovery process over the next few months. Thankfully no surgery is necessary and the diagnosis looks positive for a good recovery.

We both want to thank everyone who was involved in getting him safely home. We can't fault what the crew did while looking after him trackside and at the at the hospital in mildura. Also thankyou to everyone who has called to check on him in the past few days. The offroad community really are fantastic.

Massive shout out to Michael's wife Tiani. Having so much experience in the medical profession definitely helped and she made sure he has gotten the best care possible. We also want to wish Tiani good luck with your ‘patient' for the next few months. He is a handful on the green whistle

All set for the first round of the Australian Off Racing Championship. 2026
200 km north west of Mildura. The out back town of Pooncarie.

Racing starts 2:30 this after with one 103km lap
Tomorrow will consist of 3 back to back 103km laps

All of this not possible with out the help and support of our team and families.

Another Awesome weekend away in Millicent. With Dale taking home another win this season and Brent and Andre having a 7th DNF in a row 🤪

We wouldn’t be able to go racing without our team who put in so much effort. Working untill all hours on race weekends and in the shed during the week. The hard work and attention to detail is very much appreciated.

So, a massive thanks to the entire crew, families, wives and partners that encourage us from the sidelines and from home. Looking forward to some more racing and trips away next year. (&hopefully Brent and Andre finishing a race)
