💫International Women's Day 2021💫

"We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world." -IWD 2021

Did you know less than 25% of tennis coaches in Australia are women? We are proud to have 10 of these coaches as part of the VTA team and will continue to provide more opportunities for coaches and women in sport.

What an awesome week at Fawkner Park Tennis Centre 🎾

GOOD NEWS TUES!

Last week we hosted our FIRST Annual VTA Women's Week and we are extremely proud of its success.

51 empowered Women attended our 7 bonus Cardio, Coach and Play, QuickHiit and LGBTQI+ Evening Coach and Play sessions.

We also had record numbers attend Girls Power Camp with 63 girls across 6 courts working with 8 inspiring female coaches, 5 motivating guest coaches, and 1 aspirational guest speaker.

We would like to thank everyone that participated and helped create a safe and welcoming environment to play tennis.

We can't wait to do it all again next year!

What a way to end our Women’s Tennis Week 🙌

Nicole Pratt hosts "Pratty's Power Hour" 💪🏻.
Friday 11 December.

🌠Is it really the last day already?🌠

After a fun-filled two days, we are thrilled to announce Nicole Pratt will be our guest speaker for the final day of Girls Power Camp for 2020.

Formally ranked Number 1 in Australia, Nicole is renowned for her supreme fitness and on-court tenacity. She won the Australian Open Junior Championships in 1991 and broke through to win her first WTA title in 2004. During her successful career she played in 18 Australian Opens and represented Australia in both the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Nicole has recently taken on a new role as Tennis Australia's Females in Tennis - Coach Lead. The role is set to inspire the current and next generation of female coaches, and we are sure she will inspire our girls during Pratty's Power Hour.

We look forward to welcoming Nicole to the Girls Power Camp Family tomorrow, where she will be answering all the girls' questions and wrapping up a fantastic Girls Power Camp for 2020.

All tennis is on pause for now...

All VTA venues will close as of 6:00pm on Sunday 2nd August

In light of stage 4 restrictions being introduced in Melbourne, all tennis will pause temporarily. We'll keep you updated as information becomes clearer on current restrictions and how tennis will be reintroduced in the near future. Having been in this position before, we know that tennis will be one of the first sports to return, and no doubt stronger than ever.

On behalf of the VTA team, we'd like to thank you for your support over the past few months. As a small business, this will be a particularly difficult time but we will continue to support our team during this period in any way we can and we look forward to getting back to what we do best.

We will continue to keep you updated throughout this time and encourage you to follow us on instagram for your tennis fix!
Stay safe and keep well,

The VTA Team

Mask up Melbourne...

Here’s what the latest restrictions mean for tennis.

🎾 All visitors to the centre will be expected to follow directions from DHHS apart from where exemptions apply

🎾 When you are entering/leaving the courts or checking in with our office a face covering should be worn

🎾 If you are doing strenuous physical exercise you do not need to wear a face covering but you must carry one with you. Strenuous exercise can include playing tennis.

🎾 Private lessons (1:1) will continue and can be shared by members of the same household

🎾 Court bookings (with max one other person or members of your own household) will also continue

🎾 ALL players must check in using the QR codes at the venue prior to entering the courts

Stay safe and stay smart
