Compatibility In Relationships 💚

We fall, trip and slide into relationships.

One day you’re talking and getting to know one another and the next you’re living in each others pockets.

In the early days, everyone knows you’re a couple and you appear ‘happy’. Maybe even for years and years.

But there has been no talk or discussion or assessment to see if you’re compatible or not.

Nothing.

You both take it for granted that you’re together and that’s that.

End of story.

You’re physically attracted to one another, that’s undeniable BUUUTTT…

It takes more than attraction for a relationship to work.

It takes looking at your core values and what’s really important to you.

Some questions to ask yourself;

💚 Are you both on the same page in terms of finances, children, family life, values?

💚 Are there any sticking points in your relationship?

💚 Are the same arguments repeatedly coming up?

💚 Where is there resistance in your relationship?

I’ll tell you now that LOVE is NOT enough.

We must focus on whether there is compatibility from the very start.

When you’re being LOVE BOMBED it rarely feels like it’s a bad thing.

It can feel refreshing to be with someone who is so attentive and into you and so very interested in EVERYTHING about you.

It can feel like this person really SEES you.

AND

They want to know all about you.

The thing is, if it seems too good to be true, especially early on then it likely IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE❗️

Men will often use this tactic to basically:

⛔️ Hook you in

⛔️ Tell you all the things

⛔️ Make you feel safe and like he’s ‘the one’

ONLY to start ‘changing’ into a different person you don’t even recognise some months down the track.

By that time you’re already heavily emotionally involved and likely ‘in love’ with him.

Despite the glimmers of red flags 🚩 that you’ve likely swept under the carpet.

It’s not just you, we ALL do it or have done it in the past.

It’s not your fault that you trust peoples words and put faith in their intentions.

It’s just unfortunate that there are men out there where this is their M.O.

Know the signs and if something feels off, really assess whether this is someone who is in it for the same and genuine reasons you are.
