The 1st ever victory for Sri Lanka on Australian soil was achieved on the 19th of January 1985. Sri Lanka beat Australia by 4 wickets at the MCG. As we all know, beating the Aussies in Australia is always special and when you achieve it for the 1st time it's always going to be a special moment in history for any country.

There were 4 peterites in that team which beat Australia. Upon analysing the statistics of the match it's quite fair for anyone to conclude that it was truely St Peters vs Australia. Such was the impact of all 4 peterites who played on that special occasion with distinction.

THE STORY OF OUR FIRST CRICKET CAPTAIN BY SURANJITH SENEVIRATNE

St Peter’s College Colombo are due to start their two day, Traditional and Tournament Cricket matches shortly. Cricket at St Peter’s College started nearly a century ago (in 1927). This is an opportune time to remember our very first Cricket Captain - Mr Norman Patternot. Mr Patternot was from a well known and respected Burgher family living in Dehiwela.
