It’s ok if you emerge from lockdown as a different version of yourself than the one others knew before.
It’s ok if your priorities have shifted.
It’s ok if you’re confused as hell and have forgotten how to socialise.
It’s ok to transform; it’s necessary.
Acknowledge that you’ve been through something, and that it’s normal for it to change you in unpredictable ways.

💨 BREATH FACTS 💨
- The Sanskrit word for breath is ‘prana’ which translates to ‘life force’.
- Breath can activate either the sympathetic or parasympathetic nervous systems (fight or flight vs rest and digest). You can test this by taking 5 rounds of breath first rapidly and then slowly and noticing any differences in how you feel.
- Breathing is an automatic function of the body; it doesn’t require consciousness.
- However, we can ‘override’ and self regulate this function, unlike our digestion, blood pressure or other automatic functions.
- The act of inhaling is the contraction of muscles attached to the rib cage (intercostals) which expands the rib cage and therefore the lungs; this lowers the air pressure in the lungs and creates a vacuum for air to flow into. Essentially, all we need to do in order to breathe is to create space for air - we don’t need to physically ‘suck’ air in (this was helpful knowledge for me during panic attacks).

Teaching this evening, I forgot the word for ‘big toes’. As I stared at my feet in bewilderment, all that came to mind was ‘feet thumbs’ 😐

🌟 SATYA 🌟
Nope, it’s not the peanut flavoured goodness on a stick. It’s the second of the Yamas (yogic principles), meaning truth.
Truth is more than just not lying. It’s how you live in alignment with your values and beliefs. Actions speak louder than words - what message are you sending out through your actions?
Satya reminds us to be truthful in both our actions and words, to ourselves and others. To do this, we must consistently spend time on gentle and honest introspection. Nobody else can figure out YOUR truth, nor can they tell you if it’s right or wrong.
When we live in satya, things start to naturally fall into place, because we make the right choices the first time around. Do the work, and satya will reward you with passion, purpose and contentment.

Surround yourself with people who inspire you. You need to be around people you want to grow into, not people you have already outgrown.

Don’t forget to have a lil stretch 🙃
I am loving side stretches lately. These movements help undo the stiffness created by sitting for long periods and can ease back pain when practiced regularly. Aim for a long reach up and out of the hip rather than just trying to hold your foot.
