Congratulations to on the release of her beautiful Aurora Dress pattern. It is a beautiful double darted bodice with a full circle skirt with loads of lovely details that elevate it to a very satisfying make! The pattern includes making your own buttons and rouleau loops, bias bound seams along the inside of the front placket, as well as a lovely wide hem facing. Oh and the back bodice panels are tapered along the CF and darted, for an extra smooth fit.
I made the short sleeve version due to my local running out of this beautiful Japanese cotton poplin. Next time, I'd love to make the long sleeve version as it is a romantic bishop style which gathers at the wrist.
Mila crafts gorgeous patterns that have very clear instructions and beautiful accompanying illustrations. This was my first time using one of her patterns and I highly recommend them for their quality. Hopefully, in the future, her size range will increase so more sewists can enjoy her wonderful designs.

I asked you all what your preference was and the majority vote was a reel and a carousel per make! So, here I am, delivering the goods! Hoping I get a lot better at my reels this year!
Wish I got a few more close up photos of this make the other day but you know how it is, posing in public is kinda weird, right? And there were people around. Felt like enough of a duffer just doing a spinny in front of folks 😆 that getting my hubby to come in real close on my dress felt a bit too much, haha!

Sewing friends in Melbourne! We've 100% locked in a date for the first Melbourne Spring Fabric Swap & Picnic!!
In anticipation of the sunny weather on the horizon of this mild winter, I've organised a fabric swap and picnic to bring us all together!
Held on Sunday October 1st at Edinburgh Gardens from 2-5pm. You can expect fabrics from a fellow sewist's stash, smiles, kindness, some nibbles and drinks.
