💙 Day 12 of

Peach winter skies. Cobalt blue water.

A reminder that Blue Mind doesn’t ask us to do more. It simply invites us to notice.

The colours, the movement, the horizon.

A few quiet moments by the water can help us shift from busy mind to blue mind.

How did you connect with water today?

Day 10 of 💙

This morning we practiced yoga over the bay beneath dark clouds, a peach-coloured sunrise, and stormy water.

The theme of our class came from a simple idea by Eckhart Tolle:

“One conscious breath in and out is a meditation.”

Today we explored that through movement.

Rather than sitting still, we let the body become the meditation. Each inhale a wave rising. Each exhale a wave returning. Nothing to achieve. Nothing to force. Just one breath, one movement, one moment at a time.

The ocean was our teacher this morning. Wild. Raw. Beautiful. Never rushing to become anything other than what it is.

Perhaps we can practice the same.

Birdsong. Crystal bowls. Guitar. Candlelight. ✨

Last night was pure magic.

A beautiful room full of community, gentle Yin, and the immersive sounds of Essence of Place. Nicky & Pete wove together recordings from the Australian bush, live guitar, crystal bowls, and their own original compositions, creating a truly unique sound journey by the bay.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to Nicky & Pete for sharing their gift with our community. 💙

Our next Sunset Series is Monday 6 July with the incredibly talented Margot Petrie. More details coming soon, but if last night taught us anything, it’s that these evenings are not to be missed.

Day 8.

Winter arrived this morning with pink skies stretching across the bay, crisp air on our skin, and glassy water reflecting the first light of the day.

There is something special about being near water in winter. The world feels quieter. Simpler. More spacious.

Blue Mind research shows that time spent near water can help us feel calmer, more present, and more connected. This morning was a beautiful reminder of that.

Whether it’s a sunrise walk, a moment by the ocean, a paddle, a swim, or joining us for yoga by the bay, we invite you to find your daily dose of blue.

Share your water moments and join the global movement:

💙 Snuggle in, get comfortable, and let yourself be transported.

Bring a blanket, a pillow, and your warmest socks. We’ll provide the candlelight, water views, and a truly unique evening by the bay.

We’re so excited to welcome Nicky & Peter to the Yacht Club.

Partners in life and music for over thirty years, Nicky and Peter share their beautiful Essence of Place sound journeys — weaving together pieces composed on the land with therapeutic soundscapes.

Their music is deeply informed by Nicky’s training with the British Academy of Sound Therapy, creating immersive experiences that nurture, restore, and connect listeners to the natural world. Their performances have been shared at festivals, venues, and events right across Australia.

We’ll begin with gentle Yin Yoga before settling into a sound journey featuring crystal bowls, guitar, sounds from nature, and original compositions.

No two journeys are ever the same.

Prepare to be transported through sound, story, and place.

Day 3 of 💙

A misty morning.
Rippling water.
One bird gliding effortlessly through the sky.

This is Blue Mind — the calm, meditative state we drop into when we spend time near water. Marine biologist Dr. Wallace J. Nichols describes it as the gentle shift away from the stress and noise of “Red Mind” and into a slower, more connected way of being.

The ocean doesn’t rush.
The bird doesn’t force.
Nature moves with ease.

Maybe today is a reminder that we don’t always have to push so hard either.

Join us for 100 Days of Blue by sharing moments near water that help you slow down, breathe deeper, and reconnect 🌊

Day 1 of 100 Days of Blue Mind 🌊

Today marks the beginning of the global challenge — 100 days of intentionally reconnecting with water, nature, and ourselves.

Inspired by the work of marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols and his groundbreaking concept of Blue Mind, this movement invites us to shift away from the stress and overwhelm of “Red Mind” and drift toward a calmer, more connected state through water.

The challenge officially runs from May 25 – September 2, 2026.

The beautiful thing is… it doesn’t need to be extreme.

Blue Mind can look like:
🌊 watching waves roll in
🚿 taking a mindful shower
🛁 soaking in a warm bath
💧 drinking a cold glass of water slowly
🎧 listening to ocean sounds
☔️ walking in the rain
🩵 remembering a favourite moment by the sea

The invitation is simply to notice water more deeply and allow it to soften the edges of modern life.

The 3 pillars of the movement:
• Recognise — notice water around you every day
• Engage — spend intentional time with water
• Protect — care for and advocate for our blue spaces

For the next 100 days, we’ll be sharing moments from the bay, ocean, movement, stillness, and the everyday magic of water.
