A Farewell Message From Coach Melissa

These are some photos from our most recent (and most fun) excursion at the Melb cable park! These pics are a physical representation of the way it feels for me to be a Bootcamp trainer - with my arms reaching out; being there for support, encouraging and motivating…or right behind them, giving them that push they need (literally), or the reassurance I’ll be there to catch them if they fall.

Often I’m encouraging people to do things they have never done before, or haven’t done in a very long time. However, I had never heard so many “I can’t”’s in one day, and equally as many “omg I can’t believe I did that”’s !

So how important is mindset? Once you beleive in yourself, you can literally do anything… if you give up too soon, you are selling yourself short. Team work and support is what made this excursion so much fun, but also so rewarding.

I wanted to post today to farewell these beautiful and hardworking girls. They have come such a long way, further than they ever imagined. They will take with them friendships that will last a lifetime and habits that will now be hard to break. I want to thank them for being there every single day. I want to thank them for making my job the most fun and rewarding thing I’ve ever done! I want to thank them for coming to training rain, hail or shine…0 degrees or 40 degrees…sad or happy! Each and every member made this group the kickass community it is … and of all time. The support you get from these girls is honestly nothing I’ve ever seen before. A group of women who will literally bend over backwards for each-other if it means they might smash a pb or need a shoulder to lean on. You might come to Bootcamp in a yucky mood but you’ll leave chirping like a bird.

So for me, I will be watching from the sidelines, cheering them on! Thanking my lucky starts that I was part of something so special! I will be forever grateful for everything I’ve learnt, the memories I keep and the laughs I’ve shared.

One of the biggest mindset changes I’ve had over the last few months is that I’ve come to appreciate my body for all the things it does for me… walking, running, lifting weights, taking me places, sensation of touch … the little things that we take for granted or we literally don’t even realise! We are incredible once we take the time to reflect 💖

Every day should be a surprise of what your body can do, which is why challenging yourself and pushing yourself just that little extra bit each day will come a long way if you’re consistent :)
