Ahimsa is the first yama, and is roughly translated as nonviolence. I assume you're not an overly violent person (unless you're out there choosing pulp in your orange juice, wow that's outright violence), but as Iyengar states, "violence is a state of mind"; it isn't just about not physically harming ourselves, or others, or the world, but also not thinking negative thoughts towards ourselves or others.

Examples of Ahimsa:
🌼Can you enter a pose peacefully?
🌼Can you attempt a challenging shape, whilst holding compassion in your mind if you struggle?
🌼Can you pop a bug outside when its lost its way, rather than squishing it 😪?
🌼Can you maintain a feeling of love and peace when your cat has s**t all over the carpet?

So, be kind to strangers. You never know if they're rich and eccentric and might put you in their will. Lol I joke. Be kind to yourself (I recommend grilled cheese by phone light- follow me for more self-care tips). Be kind to the planet.

See if you can honour Ahimsa both on, and off the mat today.

[Through a mouthful of biscuits] but how do you get past the never falling in love thing again?????

S**t happens to all of us. Not everyone is out there to support you. Not everyone will stay. Life is about finding peace in that.

HOWEVER it's a pretty human thing to ruminate on it (wyd 3am pull up to my crib for an anxiety party), or resent and resist anything that contradicts our self-definition, or who we want to be.

Replaying past failures in your mind over and over again only serves in programming you to continue to fail. Our thoughts and feelings are energy- they emit vibrations and what we continually send out.. we get reflected back (not woo woo but actually quantum physics). Therefore whatever we give our attention to, grows and GROWS.

Forgiving will not erase the wrongs, but will free you from their hold. Go through that uncomfortable process. Stop dodging it, as you're delaying what is necessary for you to evolve.

Nothing will ever be like it was and we should be grateful. We are always one second away from a completely different future. This is actually pretty freeing, no matter how suffocating and overwhelming your nostalgia or regret feels.

Be here now, and see what opportunities and adventures arise. Remember, 'some of the best days of our lives haven't happened yet'. 🦋

Stay hydrated, order pizza, basically find a gesture of love for yourself today. May your heart be calm and your vision clear.

Hi everyone, just letting you know I just posted pics of all my new throw pillows on my OnlyFans.

Lol false advertisement. That content would be PRIMO though!!!! But now that I have ur attention..

🐠MATSYASANA/FISH POSE🐠
This asana can be so delicious for opening us up in all the ways we may not want but need. Also I find myself imagining how COOL it would be in this posture if we had LASER TI***ES SHOOTING UP TO THE SKY but it's still pretty badass without this addition.

Most of us for a lot of the time block the energy centers in our neck and heart with general poor posture. I for one sit like Gollum 80% of the time. Therefore when I'm in this shape, the expansion of these normally shielded areas feels too good. I instantly feel rejuvenated, more confident, and more alive. 🌸

The opening of the throat is not something we practice often, and because of this it can lead to instances of miscommunication, or inability to speak our truth. Thus when we do care for this energy center, we are encouraging free expression and therefore the capacity to create and manifest exactly what we want and need in our beautiful lives.

Finally, we open up our ❤big❤sensitive❤heart❤ when we come into this shape and lift our upper back and chest up. Sometimes with back bends my brain is like I finally see how I die but if it feels too intense, know that you can add a block or blanket both under either the head and/or the lower edges of your shoulder blades for extra support. Feeling afraid, self-critical and stressed/worried can happen when your heart is closed to life.. practising Fish pose helps to cultivate compassion and joy and well-being. I am sure the path to happiness ends with Caramilk, but I'm also sure that opening up your center of love and connection with all beings would bring you pretty close.

I hope this has inspired you to include this asana in your personal practice, and that your day has lots of smiles and peace.
