Hi Dancers,
This Saturday 23rd Nov is ISDAV's afternoon tea and dance workshop at the Edinburgh Gardens Community Room, North Fitzroy from 1pm.
There has been a few questions regarding the facilities in the community room as the temperature is expected to hit the mid 30's. I can confirm that the room has not 1 but 5 split system air conditioners to handle the heat.
Remember everyone is welcome. We are planning a fun program around dances that even our regulars have never done (or at least not for 15 years) so there will be something for everyone. A light afternoon tea will also be provided.
We also have access to the room, along with the kitchen facilities from 12:30 so feel free to come in early, bring your lunch, and join us for a picnic in the park. Pre-payment not required however, it would be great if you could fill in the form on the website to register your interest. This helps us with planning and catering (How many scones Matt needs to bake) particularly if you have dietary requirements. https://www.isdav.org.au/events

Hope to see you there,
Keep Dancing!

Plenty of updates this week from us.

Firstly a fantastic time was had at Majors Creek Festival with Matt running a workshop in the local historic hall. So good to have a festival include dance into its programming. Thanks to all those that came to dance, the festival organisers and all the volunteers for a fantastic festival. First time at 'Majors', will definitely be back and would definitely recommend!

Next, dancing at Comhaltas Melbourne Wednesday this week 13/11 will be reduced due to the AGM. We expect the AGM to take no more than an hour so we hope to have an hour of dancing from 8:30. Anyone with an interest in Comhaltas I'd encourage you to come in to the AGM and listen to what the committee have to say.

Dancing at the Celtic Club Melbourne with Matt is on next week 19/11 7:30-9:00pm. Registrations here; https://www.celticclub.com.au/whats-on/irish-set-dancing-classes
All welcome, very beginner friendly.

Also coming up, we are having an afternoon tea and dance workshop on the 23rd November at the Edinburgh Gardens Community Room, North Fitzroy from 1pm. Everyone is welcome. We are planning a fun program around dances that even our regulars have never done (or at least not for 15 years) so there will be something for everyone. A light afternoon tea will be provided.
We also have access to the room, along with the kitchen facilities from 12:30 so feel free to come in early, bring your lunch, and join us for a picnic in the park. Pre-payment not required however, it would be great if you could fill in the form on the website to register your interest. This helps us with planning and catering particularly if you have dietary requirements. https://www.isdav.org.au/events

Finally, looking way into next year. 16-18th May 2025. Lots of work still planning and preparing for the Melbourne Comhaltas Irish Set Dance Weekend but we have some very exciting news. The guest teacher for 2025 with be none other than the legend Pat Murphy! It's been a number of years since he was on our shores and we can't wait to welcome him back. The venue will be St Martin de Porres, Military rd, Avondale Heights and program will be similar to previous years. More details will follow in the new year but get the dates into your diaries for a fantastic weekend of dancing.

Keep Dancing! 💃 🕺
