It's with a heavy heart it seems that we may have lost another up standing member of our beloved club
So I'm doin me tax, and I thought of this :
THE WOODS GOLF CLUB
SOFTWOOD BELCH LUG
FOLLOWED CHUBS GOT (eaten by an alligator)
OUTFLOWS BELCH GOD (aka Bubbles)
SLOTHFUL COW GO BED
TWOFOLD BELCH GO US
TWOFOLD HOC GEL BUS
but the one that really caught me eye, and should have some sort of trophy named after it, was this one:
OUTFLOW BELCH GODS
That's us in a nutshell, lads!
Wow! What a way to send off a golf season. What a cracking trip, certainly one of the better ones! Thanks to everyone who made it. And thanks to The Prez for all his hard work to make our club happen.
Our new season starts next Sunday. If you want to get your name on the big trophy you have to turn up. Just ask Ben Godfrey who played all 22 games last year. That meant he had two chances a month to post a good score. Congratulations to Ben, our 205/16 Player Of The Year. So get along next season and see if you can get your name on the trophy (a new name is overdue). If you've got any golfing buddies, now is the time to introduce them into the Woods.
The Woods Golf Club lost a special man, who was sent off today - Chris Francis Andrew. He was a brother too a couple, a son too one, and a beautiful friend too many. As a club we send our deepest heartfelt condolences to his family; beginning with his beloved children Caleb and Holly, his adored family Steven, Julie and Scottie and also their loved ones, and his in-laws and friends... He truly does Rest In Peace because our God has his soul... We love you bro, we miss you - always remembered, never forgotten...
Check this out boys! Lucky it wasn't Godfrey... Some one would be dead! http://www.golfchannel.com/news/grill-room/must-see-video-woman-crushes-back-back-drives-crowd/

✓ Another solid turnout with 12 players fronting up, 9 of which went even or under the card on handicap in tough conditions.
✗ The course was pretty wet and muddy with the grass unmown in many parts. It still played pretty well and I guess the tradeoff was how quiet the course was, making for an easy going round!
✓ Lee Daly lit it up! After applying the correct handicap Fluffy smashed out an awesome 49 points @ 13 Under! Thank you Mr Daly, I'll have 6.5 shots off your handicap!
✓ A club favorite made his long awaited return, it was great to have a round with Ronny Dap.
✓ Tyson played his 3rd game and launches with a handicap of 26. Based on that handicap he actually wins Game 4. Welcome aboard Tyson and remember I'll be watching closely so if you've been foxing, I will use my discretion to wind that handicap in!
✗ The reigning champ questioned why we play this course in winter. The big gun was unable to adapt his punch and run style to the long heavy grass and posted an uncharacteristic 16 over.

✓ Another solid turn out with 13 players
✓ Great to see Daz and Fletch have already doubled last seasons number of games!
✓ We welcomed Tyson for his first game with the woods. He showed enough to suggest he may have been foxing for handicap but we'll see, hopefully he becomes a new regular.
✓ A better points showing, the score from game one would land you 9th spot this week.
✓ Thankfully for the rest of us Godfrey didn't manage to put 2 38's together. He did manage a very respectful 41 points to take the day.
✗ Reigning NAGA Travis was a last minute withdrawal. We are busting to see how Trav looks in pink. So at the end of the first month he doesn't have a score on the board. Good way to keep that pink shirt fella!
✓ The new season handicaps were finally
put in place. Kev comes in 1.5 whilst at the other end Keane goes out 3.9 and Steve 3.6. Game on moles!

✓ Ripper turn out for the first game of the year with 14 players.
✓ The course was in great shape and although a tad cold it was a cracking day!
✓ Great to see a few old faces back including Keane all the way from Chicago and old mate Fletch.
✓ Speaking of Fletcher, he was one of the three that hit 33 points but he and Stephen handed the day to the higher handicapper in Bubbles.
✓ Comment of the day goes to Ryan who asked Keane if he was bumping relos off, just so he could get trips home! Nice work Prez!
