Evolution Futsal

After an exciting season over at Blackburn, our summer comp came to an end last week.
The semi finals saw the two top teams unraveled with 3rd placed Tigers and 4th placed Irish Times FC booking their spots in the final. For the first time in years we would have a new champion at Blackburn! Both teams had it all to play for. We watched Irish come out of the gates strong, picking up a handy lead at the break. The second half was very even but Irish held their lead until the final buzzer to take their first win. Big congrats to both teams on a great season. It's not an easy final to get to! 🏆🏆🏅🏅⚽⚽

Div 2 Monday finals were some to remember. Underdogs Wombo Combo managed a 5-4 win over table toppers PMK FC in the first semi. An awesome game, that could have gone either way. Then Super Pink Chickens had to fight hard to get past Farcelona. The final was a series of ups and downs that eventually saw Super Pink Chickens take the title! This was a sweet game for us as between Wombo Combo and Super Pink Chickens, there are at least 6 players who have been playing at Evolution since it began. Legends 👏

Big congrats to our Division 4 teams for a fun season of futsal!
Full T FC had a cracker, finishing top in their first finals appearance. Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies were up there again too. Our two finalists got through some hard-fought semis. Having just one head-to-head match during the season, we expected a good game.
A low scoring affair eventually saw the duckies home to their second title (back to back). Well done to both teams 👏🏅👏

We had a very close division 2 comp this season. Teams switched ladder positions throughout and it wasn't until very late that you could predict a top 4. 1st placed "Old Timers" got through their semi ready to take on the Grocery Goblins, who pulled off a late comeback against Meerkat FC to go through (6-5). The final was set. While both teams fought hard for the win, Old Timers stuck to their game and held in for their second Div 2 title. Congrats to both teams on some quality futsal ⚽⚽🏅⚽⚽

Lads! They've finally done it. After many seasons and many finals, their first title has arrived. Finishing 4th gave them a difficult semi against table toppers, Beluga Whales. It was a close game but the Lads got through. The second semi saw Swillers edge out Da Boys using their home ground advantage. The final was an enjoyable game. Both teams worked hard but Lads were just a little more clinical, taking the win 11-5 in the end. Congrats again to Lads and too all our div 3 teams on a great season 🏆⚽🏆

Division 1 Sunday was another cracker season over at Diamond Creek. We had a few new teams join and after some cracking matches throughout, the title was to be decided. A tough semi between league leaders Merkball and Ed's men saw Merkball through to the final. The 2nd semi was even more intense and had to be decided in extra time. Bazball with the decisive goal to knock out Bait and Tackle. The stage was set for a quality final. The game was tight early on but it wasn't too long before Merkball found their stride and stormed home. Congrats to the lads on their second title and an excellent season 🏅🏆🏅

Another ripper summer season comes to an end. After probably the best weather we've had for the comp, our finals wrapped up last week with some cracking games. League leaders and reigning champs Chalk FC dispatched Merkball in a tight semi; final score just 1-0. Newcomers Ex-Yugo FC had a cracking season finishing second and taking on third placed Off in the Tub in their semi. Another tight game that finished 1-1 and took both ET and then 9 penalties to find a winner.
The final was set with Chalk FC to take on Off in the Tub. The first half was competitive, Chalk leading 1-0 at the break. They rallied in the second half though to round things off with a clean 4-0 win. Congrats on 4 in a row to the Chalk lads. And thanks to all squads for a cracking season! 🔥🏅☀️

After a few months off, our long awaited Blackburn final was here! Swift FC held top spot, with Shadow and Beef close at their heels. The week prior saw some decent semis but it was no major surprise to see these two teams in the final. A strong start from Swift FC saw them take a 3-0 lead early. Not until the second half did Shadow start clawing their way back in. Tied at 3-3, Shadow scored a nice cutback to go 4-3 up with 90 seconds to go. The rest is history...

They've finally done it. These legends have been playing with us for years. They've been through thick and thin. It's a pleasure to be able to say... Congrats to the Duckies on their first title!

They started the season excited to be in Div 4 and after a solid season, they finished 2nd on the ladder.

As you can see, they were there to win on finals day, turning up with effectively 2 teams! After a tight semi, they met De Faultball in the final. A game that had everything, including a large chunk of extra time, Duckies scored in the dying seconds to take the win.

Congrats again and big thanks to all the Div 4 teams for a fun and entertaining season 🏆🏆🏆🏆

As you can see from the photos, we had a bit of a crowd down for the Div 2 Monday finals!
The familiar PMK FC boys were back and into another final. Bolt Athletic continued their undefeated run and joined them in what would be an epic final. It was a tight game throughout , one that went goal for goal almost the whole way through. Bolt Athletic holding the 5-4 lead at the final whistle. Big congrats to both teams. Bolt Athletic on their first silverware and to PMK who will no doubt come back stronger 🏅⚽🏅
