Congratulations to all those who graded on Saturday. A fantastic effort by everyone – your hard work and commitment was clearly evident on the day. Particularly very impressed with our white / yellow tip belts, the best display of multiple self defence I have seen from a junior belt cohort for a long time! Well done, everyone!

Try starting with 5 minutes a day with a simple breath-based method.
1. Sit quietly and focus on your breath. Inhale through your nose and into your belly, then exhale.
2. Note any thoughts that arise without judgement. Don’t hold on to them, let them go.
3. Come back to your breath.
4. Note the same with bodily sensations or physical distractions. Let them go and they will pass.
5. Come back to your breath and continue your practice by repeating the above.

Sadly Adrian Bidinost passed away Monday morning-18/12/23.
A much loved member of our Hapkido family, he will be missed without measure, our hearts are broken.
He is one of the finest men I have known; ever caring-the first to offer help, patient with a calm disposition and a tenacious friend.
The strength and resilience Adrian has shown is amazing, he continued training during his challenges, being recently awarded his black belt. While throughout it all remaining the loving and caring person we know.
Adrian will always be present in every class and an inspiration to us all.
Our deepest condolences to Adrian’s family, especially his fiancée Beata.

There is no entry level of fitness required to do Hapkido.
Your overall fitness (including cardiovascular), strength and mobility will improve through regular training.
Depending on your individual situation, it is advisable to consult a medical practitioner before commencing a new exercise regime.

We have a holistic approach to training by focusing on physical fitness as well as developing self defence skills and mental wellbeing.
Our culture is very important to us as well as maintaining a safe and supportive training environment. We see our selves as more than a martial arts centre – we are a community.
We develop functional fitness, conditioning and core strength via regular training while learning a practical skill set. We focus on developing both the physical skillset and mindset to achieve your training goals.
