This weeks entertainment is releathering the stoppers of the wooden ranks in this beautiful organ. First up is the Swell Stopped Diapason which was the worst offender for self tuning.

A couple of before and after shots of the keys and roll top of the Fincham and Hobday organ. Damage caused by some mindless #%^* with an axe.

After a productive morning, we are almost ready to transport the Courcelle organ back to our workshop.

09/05/2024

From Monday afternoon to Thursday evening, the organ's construction has made significant progress. The final touches include connecting a few more wires and installing the remaining ranks of pipes.

08/05/2024

A lot of progress has been made since the last post. The organ is mostly assembled and now needs the wiring to be connected. We should have the wind up and running and the organ operating tomorrow. The first of the pipes have gone in. Looking forward to hearing the first sounds.

After a very delayed flight from Melbourne, we started the first day of reassembly.
Fr. James and his team helped us to move the organ from its weekend storage place in the chapel to up on the gallery where you can see today’s progress.

We have safely arrived at our destination and successfully unloaded the truck. We will begin the reassembly in its new home next week.
