There's been a bit of an influx of followers recently...
so I thought it might be time for me to reintroduce myself since I know it can all be a bit confusing here in the Happily Made village.

So...

Hello πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

I'm really glad you're here & will hopefully hang around.

I'm Veronica.
I just turned 51 & I live in Brunswick East in Naarm (Melbourne) with 75% of my kids.

When people ask what I "do" it always takes me a moment to decide where to start.

On paper I'm a small business owner (technically the CEO πŸ˜„) of Happily Made. An ethical company that supports marginalised women in Cambodia through buying their incredible handmade treasures that they (mostly) make at home. It's something I feel very passionate about ever since I lived in a Cambodian village for 2.5 years.

I tried to juggle promoting the work in Cambodia with my other passion that's social justice. I was able to do that until the genoc!de escalated to a point where everything else just faded.

Having immigrated to |srael at age 10 from Sweden and living there for a decade (including being in the Israe|i Air Force for two years) means I have lived experience as a z!onist. (I was also a Christian
z!onist so I understand the bullsh!t from both dimensions)

It's honestly a f*cking miracle that I've unravelled from the brainwashing that I was deeeeeply embedded in. So I'm COMPELLED to do everything in my power to smash the z!onist testicles* that wrap themselves around every part of Australian society.

To pay my two rents every month (my home + the Monkey Temple) I do support work. Which is pretty much me getting paid to be myself. I love the families I get to hang out with!

As we're heading into Christmas season I will be sharing more about the treasures from Cambodia because I definitely need to empty the boxes that are filling up the Monkey Temple. So if you've found me because of my activism...please don't be weirded out.

3 requests:

1. Interacting with my posts is ✨️gold✨️.
2. Please no comments (or messages) about how I look.
3. Don't hesitate to contact me even if I'm super busy. I'll let you know if I can or can't help.

I'm not everyone's cup tea.

πŸ”₯

πŸ”₯You might not have an Israeli passport to burn...but there's something you can do to bring attention to the plight of the families in Gβ™‘za.

Anything.

Please take a few moments this weekend and find a way to amplify the critical message that we must NOW!!!!!

We can't wait any longer for our leaders to step in.

Families are STARVING as we waste time discussing stuff that can wait till after food has been distributed consistently & safely.

These are such basic human rights that all of us should be able to support without any "but what about???"

I'd really really appreciate some help with getting this post seen πŸ™πŸ½

As an Israeli citizen, and as someone who (regretfully) served in the Israeli Air Force...I'm compelled to speak up wherever I can about the gen*cide that is taking place during our chapter of history πŸ’”

I will not be a bystander.

Buy a thread!! 🧡

I made this cute little video exactly a month ago today ✨️

I hope it captures the threads that connect us with the women who weave the beautiful scarves, shawls & blankets we love πŸ₯°

When I was asked if I knew anyone who could lend money so the weavers could have a shop where their textiles are sold from...I instantly realised it was time for another crowdfunding campaign.

https://igg.me/at/BUYATHREAD/x #/

It would be incredible to raise enough money so that the weavers have an easier way to sell their gorgeous creations. Obviously so they have a sustainable income, but also so they are motivated to teach their daughters how to weave and this important traditional craft doesn't die out πŸ’”

There are some really fun perks on offer to make sure that those who contribute can receive something in return. I really want it to feel like an exchange πŸ«‚

The biggest help right now is creating a "crowd" by showing the link to as many people as possible πŸ™πŸ½

And as we say in the video:
AWKUN!!!!
THANK YOU!!!

🧡

πŸ‘‹πŸΌI'm back from a month in Cambodia and trying to not feel overwhelmed by my next chapter πŸ™ˆ

It would help me immensely if you could share my crowdfunding link with likeminded peeps and write your own blurb to let them know I'm not some random stranger πŸ˜„

Please don't underestimate how much it means just having one more person open the link 🫢🏽

A life less ordinary 03/12/2024

Apparently it's a good article πŸ™ˆ

A life less ordinary Brunswick East’s Veronica Shearman bares her soul in a new memoir.
