Koz I Love Tutus

I’m delighted to share this post today. I had a wonderful time designing this tutu for a ballerina recently. Lots of sparkle on this mint tutu with silver trim. The tiara was also designed and made to match.

Added to this post are some photos of milestones from the start of creating the plate to the completion. I have slowly developed basic pattern templates from think foam that I modify and use to create a paper pattern. Each one is often quite different than the last when I work this way.

The bodice is constructed using musk pink coloured matte Lycra, double layered to line. The tulle skirt graduates from white through pale to darker pink panty. The second layer is white tulle with gold glitter for on stage sparkle All layers of the skirt are feathered.

The decoration is a combination of three laces. Two are pale gold, the third is a vibrant 3D floral pink lace. Littered with Rhinestones for extra colour and sparkle.

💙 Beautiful ballerina photos 💙

This was a ready to wear tutu purchased in April and looks perfect for the young dancer. A matching tiara was made to complete the on stage presentation. A video of the tiara is in the comments.

I really enjoyed creating this glorious cornflower tutu with vibrant spring coloured flowers. It looks so beautiful on the sweet ballerina it was designed for.

Double Lycra Bonnie blue bodice. Decorated with silver corded lace, white/ivory 3D floral lace, light sapphire crystals and clear ab bling for neutral sparkle.
All layers of the skirt are feathered. The top layer features a subtle, narrow ombre to the outer edge in French blue. The second layer has silver glitter net for on stage sparkle. Underneath layers a variety of blues including pretty Tiffany blue for a pop of colour.
