Feast of St Hildegard of Bingen

What a delight to begin the day with St Hildegard of Bingen on her feast day and to read these inspiring words during this Season of Creation. Hildegard...woman of fire and passion, woman of the earth and healing, woman of vision and music, Benedictine woman...we celebrate you today and claim you as our sister!
As mentioned a few days ago, we remember our own Sr Hildegard with love on many an occasion and her feastday brings her close again. Like her namesake, Hildy was "ablaze with enthusiasm", a fabulous musician, scholar and lover of the earth and all God's creatures, especially dogs!
Happy feast day to our oblates who have taken the name of St Hildegard of Bingen and to all women and men who draw inspiration from this amazing woman. Through her intercession, may blessings of viriditas (vitality, fecundity, lushness, greenness, growth) be with us and all creation today!
