Seussical [Review] 15/04/2014

"After all of those years being stuck on a page, did you ever imagine you'd see me on stage?" - Dr. Seuss

Seussical [Review] ..."its simplicity gave our imaginations a starting point to visualise the full creature.."

Here's a wrap-up of the films we've seen this fortnight:

- The Other Woman: It's like a pre-menopausal First Wives Club. Despite this, the film has a heap of LOL moments & will make a great date night movie!

- Captain America The Winter Soldier: An awesome sequel that sets up the 3rd film nicely. Keep watching after the credits for a few Marvel secrets.

- Fading Gi**lo: Written & directed by John Turturro, who also stars as a gi**lo that gets pimped out by Woody Allen. It's a light-hearted film that an older audience will appreciate.

- The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rise Of Electro: A cinema full of Spidey Fan-boys were applauding at the end of this screening! Must be good if you can keep these guys happy. I thought it was fun, but a little paint-by-numbers.

Next fortnight we have preview screenings of Transcendence, The Double, The Zero Theorem and Bad Neighbors.

MELBOURNE UGC presents LIFE OF BRIAN 11/04/2014

Centurions, your pics have been released! (Underground Cinema never fails to impress!!)

Underground Cinema’s 2014 season began with a visit to Ancient Rome where over 2,000 Melburnians and Sydneysiders took up the call to join the Empire.

Melbourne UGCers adventured through a Roman market place, created in the secret location of ACCA, Southbank, where they browsed and bartered, then leisured in the lap of luxury at Pontius’ Palace, while some even joined a Secret Sect plotting against the Roman occupation before they congregated in the arena for a gladiatorial spectacle, the secret film; Monty Python’s cult comedy classic: Life of Brian.

With laughs a plenty, UGCers were definitely able to look on the bright side of life!

Valete citizens, and see you next time, but remember, shhh…it’s a secret!
