Today was about more than football.

Our Reserves and Seniors wore black bands in honour of Tamara Youkhanis, while our supporters proudly wore lavender ribbons to raise awareness for cancer. 💜 A minute of silence was also held in her honour - thank you to spring Hills fc for also participating.

To top off the day, Tamara’s brother Andrew celebrated the Seniors win alongside the squad in the rooms — a moment that meant so much to many.

A huge thank you to our players, coaches, committee, marshals and loyal supporters for helping make today such a powerful show of community and support.

We ask our Hume Bulls family to keep Tamara and her loved ones in their prayers 🙏🤍🕊

This weekend, our Seniors and Reserves teams will take the field in loving memory of Tamara Youkhanis, who sadly lost her courageous 3-year battle with cancer.

Tamara was a beloved member of the Assyrian community whose strength, kindness, and spirit touched so many lives.

As a mark of respect and solidarity, all players will wear black bands in honour of Tamara’s memory, and lavender ribbons will be distributed to raise awareness for cancer and support all those continuing their fight.

We ask our community to join us in remembering Tamara and keeping the Youkhanis family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

May she rest in eternal peace. 💜
