My very first job in fitness was as a sales rep for a gym chain, and over the last 17 years, I've worked for or managed over a dozen gyms & know their sales processes inside and out.
The average gym's idea is that once you come in, we have to use every trick in the book so you don't leave without buying a membership.
Following a script, they ask you to reveal everything about how fat, useless, depressed, weak, or sore you are, then leverage off your negative self worth or lack of physical fitness and manipulate you into believing that gym has the answer to all of your problems.
They remind you that when you stop working out, you'll go back to being a fat, useless, depressed, weak piece of s**t.
Then, if capitalizing on your negativity about yourself doesn't work, they get permission from the sales manager to drop the admin and/or joining fees. (Tip: If you do join a globo gym and you know you want to join, tell them you'll join on the spot if they waive the fees and you'll save yourself this whole process.)
After all this, they ask you to go through your phone and refer ALL your friends, even though they've done sweet f**k all to help you achieve what you came in for in the first place.
Deadlifts and Deathmetal is the antithesis to this.
We do the EXACT opposite.
If you come in for a free trial, we aim to solve a lifting problem you have in under 45 minutes.
Deadlifts stalled?
We'll help you get a PB.
Squats feel s**t?
That's probably because you're doing a low bar squat pattern with the bar up too high on your back.
Knee hurts?
Now it doesn't, because we revealed that your knee issues are actually coming from somewhere else and showed you how and why to manage it.
After we solve your problem in that first session, we will ask if you want to come back. If we're particularly busy, we will run the next session and then follow up with an email the next day.
That's it.
No pressure, no manipulation, no making you feel like a piece of s**t just so we can get your business. We're too autistic and empathetic for that, and not only is it gross for you, it feels f**ken gross for us too.
F**k the fitness industry.
We can do better. See less

We get a lot of people asking if they can come train with us, but come in casually as they live too far away or they're a member of another (s**tty, not metal) gym and therefore not keen on a membership.
We got you covered.
Get the help you need without the commitment of a membership with our Casual Package, which includes 3 x 45m casual semi private sessions, 8 weeks of access to our training app and an 8 week bespoke training program.
Between myself and Mitch, we have over 26 years of experience in a world where most PTs burn out within 2 years.
If you have questions, send em. We want to make sure you know you're in good hands.

The Deadlifts & Deathmetal origin story goes back over a decade.
I spent 7 years in a private PT studio in Alphington. It was a great place with great people, and D&DM started out as a once off concept that turned into monthly, then fortnightly, then weekly sessions. I have many fond memories of that space, but every time a metalhead trained with me I'd pop something heinous on the stereo only to have it turned off as soon as a "normal" person walked in.
I remember a usually very friendly boomer lady complaining quite persistently about the Immolation I was playing, proclaiming how she didn't like it and it "wasn't real music." Well, I don't like the fact that I'll likely never own my own house and that we're all gonna die in a big fire from climate change, but sometimes you don't get everything you want. Sometimes you will be in the same room as a flesh ripping solo.
Sorry not sorry.
We then moved to a small room in a larger gym. Again, great place, great people and many fond memories - but clients had to pay another membership on top of their D&DM rates and the space was far too small for our growing business.
Fast forward to today and we have our own, dedicated metalhead training space where the Immolation gets turned UP.
A place where you can enjoy the sweet sound of no one bitching about how they hate blast beats.
A studio where you get to come in as many times as you want each week for a fixed cost with no added gym membership fees.
A place which counters the group exercise class or F45/BFT style model - where every person attending has a program written specifically for THEM.
Deadlifts and Deathmetal is a haven for those of you who love all things heavy, need programming for specific goals or injuries or just want to become fit and strong enough to be over 30 and get in the pit without feeling like a crunchy sack of crap the next day.
Come in for a free trial by clicking the link below.
Even if you don't join, I guarantee myself or Mitch will solve a problem or show you something immensely valuable for your lifting journey in just the first 45 minutes.

Deads or squats feel s**t?
Reached a plateau with your training and need advice on how to overcome it?
Sick of only feeling your shoulders and neck when you row and want someone to show you how it's done?
Perhaps you've wanted to train with us for a long time but live too far away to justify a membership?
We've got you covered.
Click the link below & book in a casual semi private session. You'll get 45m of guidance from one of our expert coaches on whatever the f**k you need help with, just without the commitment and price tag of a 1on1 session or a full membership.
There is one catch, though.
You'll have to download an app.
I know, it's lame. You should just be able to go to a website, see the schedule and then just book and pay online. It's f**ken stupid and we wish there was a better way but sadly our CRM / programming and scheduling software is a big ol piece of s**t and doesn't have this functionality, let alone a decent AI chatbot.
