We are delighted to share that Joy of the Earth Community Garden was selected as the runner-up in Grill’d Frankston’s Local Matters program this month, receiving a $100 donation to support our garden and community activities.
A huge thank you to everyone who enjoyed a burger at Grill’d Frankston and placed their token in the JOTE jar. Every token represented support for our community garden and the work we do to bring people together through gardening, learning, sustainability, and friendship.
While we didn’t take out first place, we are incredibly grateful for the support from both Grill’d Frankston and our wonderful community. The donation will help us continue improving the garden for all members and visitors.
We’d also like to thank the team at Grill’d Frankston for their ongoing commitment to supporting local community groups through the Local Matters program.
💚 Thank you for helping us grow a stronger, greener, and more connected community.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums, grandmothers, carers, and nurturing souls in our Joy of the Earth family 🌸💚
Today we celebrate the women who help things grow — not only in our gardens, but in our hearts and communities. Thank you for the kindness, wisdom, laughter, cups of tea, seedlings shared, and the quiet care you bring to JOTE every day.
May your day be filled with love, sunshine, blooms, and perhaps a little time in the garden doing what makes your soul happy 🌿
From all of us at JOTE — Happy Mother’s Day 💐

What a wonderful morning celebrating JOTE’s 14th Birthday together!
There was plenty of laughter, friendship, relaxed BBQ chats, and a lovely community spirit throughout the garden. And thankfully, my prayers to the weather gods paid off — we couldn’t have asked for a better morning!
Thank you to everyone who came along, brought food, helped set up, cooked on the BBQ, sold raffle tickets and simply shared in the joy of the day. Community gardens are built on connection, and mornings like today remind us just how special JOTE truly is.
I’m also pleased to report that all raffle prizes were claimed and very gratefully received!
A big thank you again to our generous supporters and donors who helped make the celebration extra special.
Here’s to 14 wonderful years of growing food, friendships, community, and kindness together — and many more to come

Dear JOTE members,
You’re warmly invited to join us as we celebrate Joy of the Earth Community Garden’s 14th Birthday!
📅 Date: Saturday 9th May
📍 Location: JOTE Community Garden
⏰ Time: 10am-1pm
It’s hard to believe it’s been 14 years since JOTE was established on Joy Street — and what an incredible journey it’s been. From a handful of garden beds to the thriving, vibrant community we have today, this milestone is something truly special to celebrate together.
Please note: the date has been set for Saturday to avoid a clash with Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th May.
We’d love you to come along and enjoy:
A relaxed morning with fellow gardeners
BBQ lunch with Birthday cake and shared food
A chance to reflect on how far we’ve come
Plenty of laughs, stories, and garden chats
What to bring:
A plate to share
Your favourite garden stories (and maybe a few photos!)
Friends or family who’d love to see what JOTE is all about
This celebration is all about our community — the people who have shaped JOTE into the welcoming, productive, and joyful space it is today.
We know how hard it can be to get to the garden sometimes, but the committee would absolutely love to see as many people there as possible — it would mean a lot to share this milestone with you.
We hope to see you there to mark this special occasion 🌱

Today we pause to honour and remember the courage, sacrifice and spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
On this ANZAC Day, we reflect on the values of mateship, resilience and community — values that live on in places like our garden every day. 🌿
As we tend the soil, share stories, and support one another, we’re reminded that connection and care are at the heart of everything we do
