Another year doing what we love 🤍
We’ve continued to grow, expand our services, and support our incredible local community and clients and we couldn’t be more grateful.

New Machine Alert: Belt Squat 🏋️♂️
As physiotherapists, we’re always looking for ways to help people build strength while protecting sensitive joints and tissues. That’s exactly why we love the belt squat.
Unlike traditional barbell squats, the load is applied through a belt around the hips rather than the spine. This means we can significantly reduce axial loading on the lumbar spine while still training the muscles that matter most — glutes, quads and hamstrings.
Why this matters in rehab and performance:
✔️ Lower spinal compression – helpful for people with low back pain or those returning from injury
✔️ Maintain squat strength without irritating the back
✔️ Progressive lower limb loading during rehabilitation
✔️ Great accessory for athletes who need lower body strength but want to manage spinal fatigue
From an evidence perspective, research consistently shows that managing spinal load while maintaining lower limb strength is key in both rehabilitation and performance settings. The belt squat allows us to keep people training hard without unnecessarily stressing the lumbar spine.
Whether you're rehabbing a back issue, managing training load, or just wanting to build stronger legs, this is one of our favourite tools in the clinic.
