What an exciting month we have enjoyed to date. Last Saturday we had the absolute pleasure to open our newly surfaced Green. This project has taken 3 years to come to completion. some of the parties that must be acknowledged include: Mornington Peninsula Shire, Community Bank Southern Peninsula, Steve Brindle, Peter Flynn. Much of the heavy lifting was done by the Griffos, both Anette and Stuart. Cam Williams was also contributed significantly as our local Councillor.
The green was officially opened by Cam who also Bowled the first Bowl. Anette was given the pleasure of bowling the Jack, while Troutie and Annmaree bowled the following bowls as the winners of the Club Singles championships.

Our top team (Division 1) played in the Preliminary Final yesterday and although they performed extremely well, fell just a little short. They enjoyed an incredible journey being second last a few weeks ago to making 3rd position on the ladder going into the finals. This bodes well for the coming season.

We are indeed pleased and proud to announce that our Division 8 Team won their Grand Final last Tuesday. This is a terrific effort by the team consisting of: Terry Picket, Kim Humphries, Stuart and Anette Griffin, Maria Celentano, Karl Morsch, Neil Emerson and Beverly Isbel with Gary Iacovou standing in as emergency.

The Excitement is growing with the new green progressing well. See the photos attached.
Once finished we will hit the road running; several events will be planned; it is an exciting time for the club; we expect big things!!!

Just a little update: we currently hold a Jackpot event before our regular Thursday evening Twilight Triples. A team is randomly selected to bowl one bowl per team member to touch the jack located on the "T". Both jack and bowl must remain on the green. Should the selected team fail then a second team is selected and tries. Prize for first try is currently $240; Prize for second try is $120. This money is waiting to be won. It is a great evening and getting better every week as the weather improves. CYA there.

Last Saturday saw the official opening of Rosebud Beach Community Bowls for the coming season. We were fortunate in having Cam Williams ( our local councillor) together with our current Singles champions Marita and Quinton bowl the first Bowl. This was followed by a presentation to all that won their section. Then we all enjoyed a fine lunch catered for by our Hospitality group; Congratulations on a job well done. Then we ventured out to the sunshine and enjoyed a social game of bowls. Overall it was a great day.
