Reservoir United Soccer Club Statement – 2026 Veto Sports State League Men’s Application

Reservoir United Soccer Club acknowledges Football Victoria’s (FV) decision regarding our 2026 Veto Sports State League Men’s application. While we are disappointed with the outcome, we reaffirm the Club’s strong credentials, commitment to growth, and alignment with FV’s vision for Victorian football.

Over the past five seasons, Reservoir United has demonstrated consistency, success, and compliance within Football Victoria and affiliated senior competitions. Our Men’s Metro teams have completed every season, with both 2023 and 2025 featuring two senior squads. In 2024, our senior side were crowned Premiers, followed by our Metro 6 team achieving both Premiership and Championship honours in 2025 — clear evidence of the strength of our senior program and the success of our junior development pathway.

In line with FV’s emphasis on holistic club development, Reservoir United currently fields three girls’ teams (U10, U12, and U14) and has over 270 registered junior players across MiniRoos, boys, and girls programs. The Club also has a long-term commitment to expanding its women’s and girls’ football, with plans to establish a senior women’s team to complete the player pathway.

Reservoir United continues to invest heavily in governance, community engagement, and infrastructure. We maintain a strong partnership with Darebin City Council and actively participate in FV’s Game Changer and Club Coach Coordinator programs. These initiatives reflect our proactive approach to club growth and our alignment with FV’s strategic goals for inclusive, community-driven football.

While we are disappointed with the outcome, Reservoir United remains fully committed to continuing our development journey within FV competitions. We will persist in our mission to represent the diverse and passionate football community of Reservoir, upholding the respect, inclusion, and community values that define our club. We look forward to reapplying for State League Men’s entry in the near future.
