🔵🟡 Goodbye Wayne 🟡🔵

After many years at the heart of St Kevin’s, the legend Wayne Quirke has recently made the move back across the pond to once again call Ireland home.

Wayne first got involved with the club back in January 2015 after being persuaded by his brother 👀 He went on to give 11 seasons of service coaching and helping out wherever was needed with both our men’s and ladies’ football. Over that time, Wayne wore many hats serving as our club President, Vice-President and Secretary, as well as taking on the role of GGV President.

On the sideline, Wayne was involved in some memorable days for the club, most notably the ladies’ senior football league and championship double in 2023. He had many successful campaigns as manager including the men’s intermediate football league win in 2021 and the ladies’ Gosburn tournament win in 2026. Wayne also had success with the wider Australian GAA scene adding an Australasian Championship win with the Victoria women’s footballers in 2022 to his accolades 🏆

Away from the sidelines and floodlights, Wayne has been the heart of St Kevin’s for many years. He was always heavily involved in the committee, the social side of the club, and would always put the hand up to do the countless tasks that keep a GAA club running. Whether it was organising events, helping behind the scenes, or being right in the middle of the action, Wayne was a huge part of club life and is already sorely missed!

In recognition of everything he has given to St Kevin’s, Wayne has been awarded lifetime membership of the club.

A massive thank you to Wayne for his time, effort and commitment over the years. Best of luck back home, you’ll always bleed the blue and gold of St Kevin’s 🔵🟡

🔵🟡 2026 LEAGUE FINALS 🟡🔵

A historic weekend for the club as, for the very first time, all four codes proudly competed in their respective league finals!

While the results didn’t go our way for the big or small ball, the effort, skill, determination and passion shown across every team was something to be incredibly proud of.

Reaching this milestone is a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who continue to drive the club forward.

The heads are high, the lessons are learned and the bodies are ready as we take on championship in the weeks ahead 🔥 A massive thank you to .snaps_ for the incredible photos 📸

Gosburn 2026 Champions 💙💛🏆

Our ladies footballers flew to Sydney early Saturday morning, eager to bring home some extra luggage 🏆

Time spent bonding as a team on Saturday was evident in an excellent team performance in our opening fixture with Craobh Phadraig, where we won on a scoreline of 3-05 to 1-02.

Next up came Clan na Gael. In a hard-fought game, both teams left with a point. The final score was STK 3-07 v Clan 4-04.

Finishing with 3 points, St. Kevin's ladies advanced to the semi-final. Cormac McAnallens stood between St. Kevin's and a third finals appearance in 2026. An excellent team performance saw a 6-point win as the Saints went marching on to the final on a scoreline of 2-07 v 2-01.

In the last game of the day, we faced Young Irelands. Our ladies put on an excellent display of free-flowing football, teamed with excellent work rate, which resulted in our first piece of silverware for the year on a scoreline of 4-06 v 3-04.

Captains Daire Kiely and Lauren Boyle proudly started the celebrations by lifting the trophy alongside Ciara Byrne, who was awarded player of the tournament.

🔵🟡 Happy International Women’s day 🔵 🟡

At St Kevin’s, we are lucky to have a plethora of inspiring and powerful women leading our club both on and off the pitch.

This International Women’s Day we celebrate the extraordinary women who are the heartbeat of our club. From the competitors on the pitch to the dedicated leaders working tirelessly behind the scenes, your commitment and passion continue to strengthen our club and empower those around you.

And of course thanks to all the mammies for sending these photos from across the pond.

It’s not just a jersey.

At the beginning of February we visited in Carlton to meet our wonderful artist Alisha ( ), learn more about the artwork behind our jersey and of course, make a very special presentation.

In the video, Alisha explains the motivation and meaning behind the art as well as discussing why this project has been so important for everyone involved.

Our thanks again go to Alisha and all at The Torch who supported us throughout.

We may not have won the Seven’s, but we were definitely Best Dressed.
