🌟 Important Announcement – Mizoguchi Shihan Visit 2026! 🌟

We are honoured to announce that Shinichi Mizoguchi Shihan (7th Dan) 🥋 will be returning to our region for special training events in Brisbane at Kansai Karate Honbu Dojo 🇦🇺 and also in New Zealand 🇳🇿.

This is a fantastic opportunity to train directly under an exceptional instructor from Japan 🇯🇵

Unfortunately, Kazuo Ish*tobi Hanshi will not be visiting Australia this year. While we will certainly miss his presence, we encourage all students to take full advantage of Mizoguchi Shihan’s visit.

We understand that some of our senior members who were eligible for grading may not be attending this time due to personal circumstances. That said, this event is not just about grading, it is about growth and learning.

🔥 We strongly encourage ALL students, junior and senior, to attend if possible.
�Opportunities like this are rare and incredibly valuable for your development in karate.

We’re hosting, Wolfgang Vogel Sensei Victorian Shibucho (Seaford Koryukan), myself (Sendai Karate Club Carrum Downs), and Lindsay Hart Kancho (Combat Academy) a Yamane Ryu Kobudo Seminar and I’m very excited (and slightly mind-blown 🤯)

Yamane-ryū Kobudō is traditional Okinawan weapons training as passed down through Oshiro Chōjō, with modern insight influenced by Hanshi Patrick McCarthy; meaning this is the real stuff.

Functional, practical, and directly connected to karate… not flashy choreography for the sake of it.

You’ll be training with the bō, sai and tonfa, and discovering how kobudō seriously sharpens your movement, posture, timing and power…… and yes, you’ll feel it straight away in your karate 😜
