Big congratulations to two of our Richmond athletes on their Australian team selections 🇦🇺💚💛

👏 Lucy Burchard – selected in the Australian U18 Women’s Team. A fantastic achievement and recognition of her hard work and commitment at the national level, in what is a highly competitive and talented age group.

👏 Jacob Hebden – selected to represent Australia at the U16 Men’s World Championships in Croatia this August. We can’t wait to see Jacob take on the international stage in his debut campaign!

To be selected in Australian teams is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the dedication both athletes bring to their training and development.

The entire Richmond Water Polo Club is proud of you both and excited to follow your journeys.

Week 2 of AYC wrapped up for our U16 squads.

With four teams competing, it was a massive week of water polo made even more special with the support of some fantastic partner clubs

We’re incredibly proud of how our athletes represented the club both in and out of the pool. From players scoring their first AYC goals, to holding their nerve in penalty shootouts, to featuring on Kommunity TV for the first time - there were so many great moments across the week.

Most importantly, we saw:
• Players stepping up and embracing new challenges
• Strong team connection and support for one another
• Growth in confidence, skills and game awareness
• Resilience and determination in every match

These experiences are what AYC is all about and we know the group will take a lot from this tournament moving forward.

A big thank you to our coaches, managers and partner clubs who made it all possible 🙌

And a special thank you to our parents and supporters, travelling interstate and backing the teams all week is no small effort and it means so much to our athletes.

Well done to all our U16 athletes, we’re so proud of you!

We are so proud of our U14 Girls after a fantastic ACT Club Championships campaign in Wagga! 🟡⚫️

They delivered a brilliant tournament, finishing with a well-earned silver medal after a thrilling Grand Final that went all the way to a penalty shootout against Nordek.

They showed great composure throughout the competition, recording two wins and a draw in the rounds to finish top of their pool, before a strong semi-final win over Wagga secured their place in the gold medal match.

With eight Richmond players joined by two athletes from to round out the team, it was a fantastic squad effort and a great example of teammates stepping up for each other all weekend.

A big thank you to coach Matt and team manager Vanessa for leading the group, and to all the parents who supported the trip to Wagga.

The ACT Club Champs was a fantastic tournament for our girls and a great lead-up to AYC.

Well done girls, a fantastic effort all weekend! 💛🖤
