At Watkins Therapy Group, we are truly honoured to partner with Think Pink Foundation as a collaborative service partner.
Through this partnership, we will provide pro bono & low cost counselling support to partners of women fighting breast cancer, because we know this journey touches far more than one person alone.
Behind every diagnosis is often a partner carrying worry, stress, helplessness and the quiet weight of trying to stay strong. Being able to offer support to those people, and to stand beside them with care, compassion and a safe place to breathe, means a great deal to us.
We’d love for our community to show their support by following Think Pink Foundation and helping spread the word. Instagram - .pink.foundation or Facebook -thinkpinkfoundation

Nobody talks about how heavy things can feel before someone finally reaches out for support.
Hi, I’m Benjamin Watkins, Director and Principal Counsellor at Watkins Therapy Group.
Most days, you’ll find me sitting with people while they try to make sense of things that feel overwhelming, messy, or difficult to explain. Being trusted with someone’s story is something I never take lightly. It’s a genuine privilege.
I’m based on the Mornington Peninsula, and when I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll usually find me being a dad, following whatever sport happens to be on, or searching for my next coffee. Some people call it a coffee addiction. I prefer to call it a strong commitment to quality coffee.
Through my work, I support individuals, workplaces and sporting organisations with counselling, Employee Assistance Programs, and Mental Health First Aid training.
On this page, I share thoughts about mental well-being, leadership, workplaces, sport, and the realities of being human.
If that sounds useful, welcome.
Follow along for practical insights on mental well-being, leadership and navigating the messy parts of life.

An EAP should not be a policy sitting in a handbook.
It should be visible, normal, and easy to access.
The best EAP programs don’t wait for crisis.
They support clarity, resilience, and early intervention.

Most workplace stress doesn’t arrive with flashing lights.
It builds quietly.
A little disengagement.
A bit more irritability.
People getting tired.
People getting quiet.
By the time performance drops, the problem has often been there for months.
Strong workplaces don’t wait for the crisis moment. They create clear pathways for support early, when conversations are easier and solutions are simpler.
That’s where a well-designed EAP makes a real difference.
Early access. Confidential support. Real people helping real people.
Because healthy teams don’t happen by accident. They happen when support is part of the culture.

Pressure has a way of sneaking into the workplace quietly. It does not always arrive with flashing warning signs, but it is there all the same.
Fatigue, irritability, disengagement and silence often go unnoticed because they do not look dramatic. Yet when left unchecked, small issues have a habit of growing into much bigger ones.
The better approach is early, accessible support. Prevention almost always beats repair, for people and for workplaces.
As we move into March, our focus turns to practical mental health support at work. Because noticing the subtle signs early can make all the difference.

Work is where many people hold it together the most, and talk about it the least.
Not because they don’t care, but because they don’t want to be seen as a problem.
Creating space for early, normal support changes that.
We’ll be talking more about this next month.
