Looking to get your child into cricket but not sure where to start or looking for a supportive environment to make it easy?
Then we have the perfect opportunity for you.

After a great turnout last Sunday, we welcome everyone to attend our second come and try day this Sunday and learn what cricket at The Basin Cricket Club is all about.

Perfect for all ages and skill levels—no experience or equipment required. Just a can do attitude and a want to have fun. We will also supply a sausage sizzle afterwards.

Time: 10:00-11:00

SEASON LAUNCH 2026/2027

As we prepare for what is going to be a huge season, we welcome everyone to our season launch on Thursday 1st October. This is not your standard season launch.

The night will see an entire club training session followed by dinner where we invite families to bring a dish to share with everyone. Got something special, then we invite you to bring it down.

Training - 5:15-6:15
Dinner from 6:30
$10 for adults/$5 for kids (free for those that bring a dish to share)

After dinner, we will have a presentation outlining the season ahead.

𝘾𝘼𝙋𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙉𝘾𝙔 𝘼𝙉𝙉𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘾𝙀𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏

The club would like to announce that Nick McDonald has been appointed as the 1st XI captain for season 2026/2027.

Nick came across to the club last season and was influential with both bat and ball all season. His calmness under pressure was evident in the run chase as he saw us across the line for back to back premierships.

As we continue to evolve as a club and a playing group, Nick's elevation to captaincy sees a new era for our 1st XI.

As a club, we would also like to thank Jake Sherriff for his leadership as captain across the last three seasons and we look forward to having him continue to lead the playing group as club coach.

Well done Nick on your appointment and we can't wait to see you continue to deliver great performances for the club and evolve as a leader.

As we ramp up for the start of the year, we have our practice match against Mitcham this Saturday.

Teams will be confirmed Friday so make sure to let Jake Sherriff know if you are available if you are yet to do so.

We will be selecting two teams (locations in the graphic below).

Good luck to our senior football counterparts today in the reserves and seniors Grand Finals. The red and green army will be out in force today! 🐻🔴🟢

The big week has arrived, and we cannot be more excited!

Our senior and reserve men will be playing off for premiership glory this Saturday at Wally Tew Reserve in Ferntree Gully, with the ressies commencing at 12:05pm, and the seniors from 2:30pm.

For both teams, we will be welcoming them onto the ground through a guard of honour, we kindly ask that you make you way onto the field in preparation for this at 11:50am for the reserves, and 2:10pm for the seniors, wearing as much red and green, and carrying as much red and green decorations as humanly possible (we will have banners and other bits and pieces available to hand out on the day).

Rain hail or shine, the Bear Army will be out in force, your support as the 19th player on field will be invaluable in their quest for glory!

GIRLS COME AND TRY DAYS

As our junior program continues to grow, we are looking to increase the number of girls involved in junior cricket.

In the past few seasons, we have seen substantial growth in numbers and have loved seeing their development.

To help drive more girls to cricket, we will be running two come and try days.
