In lieu of an April meeting, here's some highlights from our labour day dive trip!
Two three-masted barques were inspected - the Lady Young (1865) and the Cheviot (1827).
We indulged in maritime archaeology above water too! A visit to the Port Albert maritime museum let us rediscover the Clonmel, an English steamer facilitating trade between Melbourne, Launceston and Sydney which wrecked on her third voyage after a 63 hour struggle.
Great to see work by Heritage Victoria and MAAV members in a former era working to identify, record and preserve wrecks across Victoria's coastline!
