Happy International Women’s Day!
We think of all the inspiring, strong, and dedicated women we have on and off the field at The Beaumaris Sharks Football Club.
Most importantly we celebrate the strength, resilience, and impact of Holly and Bianca. Incredible women —strong, kind, and inspiring in so many ways. Their passion, spirit, and the joy they brought to those around them will never be forgotten.
Today, as we honor the amazing women in our lives, we also cherish their memory and the legacy they left behind. Always with us, in our hearts.
💖✨🦈💙💛

We are immensely proud of our Club and our community and wholeheartedly believe in the notion of ‘strength in numbers’.

A Go Fund Me has been organised by the families of Bianca and Holly. It aims to raise awareness about the dangers of methanol poisoning — a silent but deadly risk that often claims lives without warning.
They want to honour the memory of Bianca, Holly, and others impacted by methanol poisoning by turning this tragedy into a mission for change. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used to:
1. Relieve Financial Burdens: Assist the families in covering out-of-pocket expenses, including those incurred while bringing Bianca and Holly home during this difficult time.
2. Support Existing Initiatives: Contribute to organisations already working to combat methanol poisoning through education and prevention efforts.
3. Fund Awareness Campaigns: Launch initiatives to educate travellers, local communities, and businesses about the dangers of methanol poisoning and how it can be avoided.
The link to the Go Fund Me can be found in our bio.
Thank-you for any contribution - large or small 💙💛🐬

Statement from the Beaumaris Football Club in regards to the passing today of Bianca Jones. 21/11/2024
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of former Beaumaris Football Club junior Bianca Jones.
Bianca’s brave fight ended today in the loving embrace of family in Thailand.
The Beaumaris Football Club extends its deepest sympathy to Michelle and Mark Jones and their extended family at this traumatic time.
Our football community has been built upon the values of togetherness, care, compassion, and mateship. In this dark hour, we come together to remember and grieve for a fellow Shark – a young girl, Bianca, taken too soon but who will be forever in our hearts.
Bianca was a much-loved player during her time playing for the Sharks. Bianca joined the Sharks in 2021 in our evolving girls Under 16’s and continued into 2022 where she was an integral part of the premiership-winning BFC U18s Girls team.
Relatively new to footy, but keen to follow in dad Mark’s footsteps, Bianca’s main attributes were her speed and agility. More importantly, she quickly bonded with her teammates due to her spirited efforts to improve herself as a player and her vivacious, sparkling personality that lifted the team on cold training nights and matchday.
Bianca’s infectious charm and tenacity made her a fondly regarded teammate and friend. Her smile, exuberance, and happy nature made her a delight to be around.
The Jones and Bowles families take great comfort from the overwhelming amount of Club and Australia-wide support there has been for Bianca and Holly. We will shortly announce a GoFundMe assistance program for the families of both girls. Whilst we have all felt largely helpless here in Australia, wouldn’t it be special if the Aussie spirit can at least relieve the families of the financial burden this situation has caused both families?
VALE BIANCA
Bianca’s fellow premiership player teammate, bestie, and travel companion Holly Bowles is still fighting for her life. We continue to send all the positive Sharks energy we can muster to Holly, Shaun, and Sam Bowles as Holly continues her valiant fight.
Fins up,

Statement from the Beaumaris Football Club in regards to Holly Bowles and Bianca Jones
The Beaumaris Football Club extends its love, best wishes and unconditional support to Holly and Bianca in their hour of need.
Our heartfelt thoughts are also with their parents Samantha and Shaun Bowles, Michelle and Mark Jones, as well as their extended families and friends.
The situation that occurred whilst both girls were travelling in South-East Asia is tragic and distressing.
Holly and Bianca are valued members of the Club. Both girls progressed through our junior program with Holly extending her love for the game to playing Senior football this year in the highly regarded VAFA Women’s B Grade competition. Both girls have achieved rarified air by playing in BFC premiership teams, firstly together in 2022, with Holly adding another premiership in 2023 by being part of the coveted U18 Division 1 Girls Grand Final winning team.
By their deeds and involvement in the girls and women’s football programs, both Holly and Bianca have become cherished and highly respected members of the Beaumaris Sharks family.
We acknowledge Holly and Bianca’s teammates and friends at the club are struggling to come to terms with what has occurred. Now more than ever, the wider Sharks Community needs to lean on each other for both comfort and support.
Keep an eye out for internal club communications for gatherings where this collective support can be provided.
Also, if you would prefer personal support at this time you may wish to contact the Club’s Chaplain, Rev. David Steerey, who has kindly offered his counselling services on 0402 837 726 or via email [email protected].
Additional support, individually or in groups, has been offered by club affiliate and Psychologist, Jo Ryan. Contact Jo directly on: 0409 183 677 or [email protected].
Please everyone take care and let me know if there is anything I or the Club can do for you.
Once a Shark, Always a Shark.

Nick Heath
