52 Marathons in 52 Weeks - Curtis Runs for Bravehearts

Follow along here as I attempt to raise $250,000.

Incorporating the Bravehearts 777 - from 30 June 2025 to 29 June 2026 I will run 52 Marathons in 52 Weeks for Bravehearts - a charity organisation for the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse.

My great mate has put together a 29 minute documentary on the year that was the 52 in 52. Grab a cuppa and take half an hour to have a look. It gives great insight into the ‘why’ I did this in the first place and the bumps we rode along the way. This is a quick snippet - full link to video in comments. Thank you Paul, it’s a keepsake I’ll always treasure.

It had to finish with a Bravehearts event. With the people who inspired me to do it in the first place. 52 Marathons in 52 Weeks (58 in 53 after I continued on around Australia as part of the 777). 3,764 KMs in training and marathons over 18 months. Over $52,000 raised to protect and treat those who have been or could be targets of child sexual abuse. There’ll be many thank yous to come once the dust has settled and my great mate Paul Manning's - thesundaylongrun has documented the year long journey and is putting together a video of the story as we speak which I can’t wait to share. It was exactly how I wanted it to end, friends, family, survivors and supporters. Pretty bloody proud 💜

With just 5 sleeps to go until I complete the 52 in 52, I’m beginning to allow myself to look back at just how far we’ve come and how we got here. Two names immediately spring to mind - Matty Abel (Matty Abel Running Academy) and (Boost Health Collective). My Coach and my Myotherapist. Both of these guys have been absolute pros in keeping my body together so we could not only back up week after week but keep backing up over the course of 18+ months. I cannot thank you enough lads. 1 to go 💪

First off - YES SOCCEROOS! Secondly, we’re 51 down. I’ve now got 15 days to tune up for #52 and the start of the 777 in Perth on June, 29. Massive thank you to Desley and the Traralgon Harriers crew for such a brilliant event. Was so great to do the penultimate in my home region with an incredible amount of support. I’ve got this now 😃💜

On Sunday I'm going to run my 50th Marathon in 49 weeks. On June 29 I'll finish my quest to run 52 marathons in 52 weeks to help protect kids from child sexual abuse. So far we've raised $45,569 for child protection charity which is just $6,431 shy of our $52,000 target. We're so close on both fronts. It was wet, amazing, windy, incredible, hilly, enjoyable and everything in-between but #49 of #52 is done. So awesome to have .financeco join me on the trail - a true legend and ambassador for the cause. Did someone say there’s only 3 to go?! Off to Sunday to raise the bat 💪💜
