Is Riley Mcgree ready for Premier League?

What is the best type of cross to find teammates in this crossing situation? Whipped cross (selected), chipped, driven...? With a teammate at the back post, a chipped cross would have been very dangerous.

Is Riley Mcgree ready for Premier League?

Mcgree is presented with a great opportunity in the 1v1. Shooting the ball first time, passing the ball in, taking a quick touch and shoot would have been better options than letting the ball run across the shoot. To become a potent, Championship winner with Middlesborough, it is expected that he consistently scores goals and assists.

Michael Carrick's first-half set up vs Norwich involves a diamond on the left-hand side of the pitch with Mcgree attempting to find space on the left or hold up the ball with no prospect of going forward as there is another Norwich defender. Mcgree is tackled and it leads to a negative transition.

Running between two defenders gets him in a free position.

Scenario 1: Holding the ball

Perception: Line-breaking pass from Harry Souttar. What is the direction and pace of the pass, are there any teammates nearby?

Decision: Hold the ball up, turn, roll the defender, lay it off?

Ex*****on --> Holding the ball up then play: Lower the centre of gravity, put hands on the defender's hip to maximise the distance between the ball and the opponent or stick the leg out at the last second to earn a foul. Use different parts of the foot to control and deceive the opponent.
