Mentone Grammar Old Boys cricket club Success was a while in coming as it was about three years before the Club won its first match.

The club was formed in 1954-55 by former students of Mentone Grammar School and played in the Federal District Cricket Association. The first premiership followed in 1962. It wasn’t until the late 1960’s, when the Club moved to the School’s playing fields in Cheltenham Road, Keysborough, that any real success came our way. OMCC Life Member John Lolas introduces former First XI premiership players John Seeary and Darryl Stevens. John played in three First XI premierships (2009/10 Captain, 2011/12 Captain and 2012/13 VTCA Senior Division Premiers). Darryl, a former long serving Coach of the Club, played in four First XI premierships (2005/06, 2009/10, 2011/12 and 2012/13 as well as a Second XI premiership in 2004/05.

OMCC's first Captain Coach Colin Barnes. Colin was appointed in 1975/76 and in 1976/77 the First and Second XI's won Turf Premierships in the Federal District Cricket Association. Colin was also President of The Australian Cricket Society - Melbourne Branch for many years.
