Weekend recap:
During practice on Friday the #1 car was perfect unfortunately during warm up lap of qualifying the car blew a head gasket. Andrew came strait in and got strait into changing it, thanks to Mick and Ryan (plus anyone else who helped) the car made it to pre grid for race 1 with 5 mins to spare.
Starting from the back of the grid in P21, Andrew made his way through the field and got himself a P2 finish by a door length to Ryan Woods in P1 and set a new track record at 2:27:74 (previously set by Joel Heinrich in the 2019 nationals 2:27:80)
A good start in race 2 and in the lead for lap one, Andrew decided to keep things interesting by spinning out, putting him to the back of the pack once again ...this time making his way back up for a P9 finish and breaking his own lap record with a 2:27:44
Starting fresh on Sunday for race 3 the #1 car made his way from P9 to P1 by lap 7, Woody's keeping on his tail for the remaining 3 laps. Andrew crossed the line in P1 to woodsy in P2. Once again beating his own lap record and setting the new track lap record for HQ Holden's on the international circuit with a 2:27:32
Last race for the weekend starting in Pole position Andrew broke away nicely and lead the race with a massive gap, lapping one car and finishing up with a massive lead of 15+ seconds to Steve Banks for the number one spot.
Overall #1 car finished up with a second place for div 1 club trophie, second place AASA - Australian Auto-Sport Alliance trophie as well as the flyer for fastest lap of the weekend (along side the track lap record) and before anyone else asks... no he didn't get the hard charger (most positions made up from qualifying to race final) because he didn't finish a qualifying lap time but he did for the record make up 20 positions.
Thanks to Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, HQ Racing Victoria Inc and AASA for a ripper weekend

🏁 HQ Racing Vic – Race One Wrap‑Up (Tailem Bend, SA) Race One at The Bend was a belter — elbows out, tight lines, and a proper tussle right to the flag. Ryan Woods (VIC) in the HSD Cylinder Heads/InSupport HQ took the win after a fierce scrap with Steve Banks (VIC) in the Pro Plumbing Supplies HQ, the pair swapping paint and pressure lap after lap. From the back of the grid, Andrew Magilton (VIC) in the Middys/Piermont/Magilton Elect HQ stormed through the field to finish second, setting the fastest lap of the race (2:27.74) and proving why he’s one of the sharpest in the category. Darryl Crouch (SA) and Darren Jenkins (SA) rounded out the top five, flying the flag for the locals, while Tyrepower continues its strong support as a major sponsor of HQ Racing Vic.
