📣 ELITE PATHWAYS ACADEMY UPDATE

A reminder that there is no Elite Pathways Academy session tonight due to the long weekend.

A big thank you to all the athletes who have registered. We’ve been incredibly impressed with the improvement shown across the first three sessions and it was fantastic to see so many of our players giving their best at the recent SSV Under 12 and Under 15 trials.

The academy was created to help young players prepare for representative opportunities, school touch and higher-level competitions, and it’s been great to see athletes already putting their new skills into practice.

We have just two sessions remaining:
🏉 Friday 12 June
🏉 Friday 19 June

With upcoming SSV and NYC trials approaching, these sessions are a great opportunity to continue developing the skills and game awareness selectors look for.

Casual spots are available. Send us a DM or email to find out more.

10 in a row… something we’ll probably appreciate even more as the years go on.

Definitely not something that happens without incredible people around you. So grateful to have coached groups over the years that genuinely buy into the culture, trust the process, work hard for each other and put team success first.

Both these programs have had talented players, but more importantly they’ve had great humans who care about their teammates and want the best for one another. That’s what makes achievements like this possible.

Winning once is hard. Staying consistent year after year, with changing teams, pressure, expectations and new challenges is another thing altogether.

Very lucky to be part of the journey with so many good people along the way ❤️

Big congrats to the Victorian players selected in Australian Emus squads for the 2026 Asia Pacific Seniors Touch Cup to be held in Japan🇦🇺🏉

Awesome to see Amitty Edgeworth, Jessika Johnston, Michelle Motteram and Dani Crosswell rewarded after strong performances throughout the Victorian Women’s Open Championships campaign this year.

Great recognition for all the hard work they’ve been putting in and a huge opportunity to push for Australian selection. Wishing them all the best at the upcoming camp on the Gold Coast in June. 👏🔥

Want an edge heading into School Sport Victoria or National Youth Champ Trials?đź‘€

Our Synergise Elite Pathways Academy is built for players who are serious about improving their touch and pushing towards representative teams.

We focus on the things coaches look for — game sense, skill ex*****on, and physicality — while giving players more opportunities outside of school to develop.

Run by coaches who’ve been through the pathway (NSW, VIC & Australia), this is about helping players take that next step… the right way.

If you’re keen to improve, challenge yourself and give yourself every chance at trials — this is for you.

It was great to be asked to once again lead the Victorian Women’s Open touch program as head coach.

Back in Storm colours 💜 and back in Coffs Harbour in March, working with a quality women’s touch team.

A really enjoyable campaign — coaching players I’ve worked with for many years, along with some new faces stepping into the program for the first time.

Special mention to our Women’s Open debutants Freya Henriksen and Alice Taitoko 👏

Jessika Johnston with an outstanding tournament, taking home MVP honours 🔥
Freya Henriksen recognised with the Coaches Award — well deserved.
Leah Percy, despite an injury setback still lead the group with high distinction and being a great role model 🤩 to the younger generation.

Proud of the group and the way they represented Victoria.

Part 2 đź’Ą

Holiday Session #2 continued and this is where it all came together… touch 🤝 rugby

Working on the fundamentals that matter — catch, pass, draw and pass — but with a different edge. Adding rugby concepts and new tools from into these core touch skills is what helps take players from good to next level.

Big focus on:
• Catch & pass under pressure
• Drawing defenders and committing them
• Making better decisions with the ball
• Playing direct, strong and with purpose

Holiday Session #2 ✔️

Another awesome hit-out with the girls, starting with a rugby masterclass before rolling straight into our touch work.

A big thank you again to Ian Nathan from Moorabbin Rams Rugby Club for leading the first part of the session. The crossover between rugby and touch is huge — especially when it comes to body strength, movement, and confidence in contact situations.

Just because touch is “non-contact” doesn’t mean it isn’t physical. Learning how to be strong, balanced, and controlled is a massive advantage — and there’s no better place to build that than on a rugby field.

For anyone looking to take their game to the next level, Ian runs girls rugby sessions every Thursday at Moorabbin Rugby Club from 6:00pm–7:30pm, kicking off for the term on May 7. Highly recommend getting down and getting involved.
