Did you know the real reason I created my signature journalling framework? It’s because I desperately needed it myself.
For years, I used journalling as a massive brain dump. I would get all my thoughts, worries, doubts, and dreams out of my head and onto the page. I’d feel a little lighter, close the book, and go about my day.
But during a time in my life when I was feeling deeply stuck, I had a really confronting moment.
I looked back at my pages and realised I had been writing about the exact same problems, in the exact same way, over and over again. The relief of writing was temporary, but the pattern was a loop.
I knew there was power in journalling, but I hadn’t yet researched just how scientifically transformative, healing, and growth-oriented it could actually be. On that confronting day, I made myself a promise: I wouldn't put my pen down until I figured out a way to journal that actually moved me forward.
The framework didn't appear overnight. But ever so slowly, I learned how to move myself past that initial (and very important!) step of just getting the stress down on the page. I learned how to gently question myself in a way that created a breakthrough every single time I wrote.
Over time, I wove in a deep sense of compassion, acceptance, and kindness, giving myself permission to feel, to make mistakes, and to always learn from them.
The most beautiful thing about this framework is that it meets you exactly where you are, whenever you use it.
If you’ve ever sat down and felt stuck about what to write, please know you don't have to face the blank page alone. Whether you join me around the table at a local Café Session, log into our online weekend community, or use my guided videos, I will never tell you what to write. Instead, I will give you the map to connect with yourself, to listen to your own heart, and to find the answers that are already waiting inside you.
Let's keep growing together.

Where: Elwood Angling club
Bring: a notebook, pen, yoga mat and favourite cosy blankets.
Book: via my website
With just a few spots left, we'd love to see you there!
When the world feels noisy.
It’s so easy to get lost in the noise of a world that seems to be constantly thriving and figured out. But the moment you open your journal, the comparison stops.
On these pages, you aren’t performing for an audience or measuring your life against a highlight reel. You’re simply remembering what actually matters to you. Your journal is the one place where the noise fades away and you can finally find your way back to yourself.
You don’t need an hour. You just need seven minutes.
The biggest barrier to journalling is the idea that it has to be a long, deep ritual. But you don't need thirty minutes of reflection to feel the benefit.
Science shows that just 7 minutes of moving those looping thoughts onto the page can shift your entire mood and settle your nervous system. Don’t wait for the "perfect" hour that never comes. Give yourself seven minutes today and welcome that exhale.
Stop trying to solve it all in your head
Ever notice how thoughts feel like a tangled mess when they’re stuck upstairs? They loop, they overlap, and they quickly become overwhelming.
But the moment you pick up a pen, those thoughts finally have a place to land. As the ink hits the paper, the fog lifts and patterns begin to emerge. You don’t always need a perfect solution; you just need to get it out. Clarity isn’t something you find, it’s something you create, one page at a time.

On the Same Page: A Journalling Workshop for Parents & Your 16-18 Year Old Teen
Being a parent or a teen right now is a unique challenge. Between the "mental load" of managing a family and the high-stakes pressure of being a young person today, it often feels like you’re both running too many programs at once. The result? Mental clutter, emotional exhaustion, and a disconnect that grows when we don’t have a shared language to navigate the stress.
The Solution: A System for Your Soul
Most people think journalling is just "dear diary" or a place to vent. But venting without a framework often keeps us stuck in the loop. I’m sharing the science of journalling and my signature framework, a structured tool for emotional regulation that I truly wish I’d had as a teen.
Rather than expecting your teen to navigate their internal world alone, this session allows you to get on the same page. Together, you’ll experience a new way of journalling, building a bridge of connection while you both learn to listen to your own inner wisdom.
What You Will Gain Together
* The Science of the "Settle" We’ll look at how putting pen to paper actually regulates the nervous system. You’ll learn how to "pause" the mental chaos and lower the volume on the external noise so you can finally hear yourself.
* The Framework for Clarity I’ll provide the specific structure that most journalling lacks. It’s a repeatable process that turns a messy "brain dump" into a clear path forward. You’ll experience step-by-step, how to make space for big emotions without getting swallowed by them.
* Listening to Inner Wisdom Instead of looking outward for answers (Google, social media, or peers), this tool teaches you both how to tap into your own "Internal Compass." You already have the answers; the journal is just the tool that reveals them.
* A Shared Way to Reset By learning and experiencing this framework together, you create a neutral ground. You’re not just a parent giving advice; you’re two humans practicing a life skill that enhances your connection to yourselves and each other.
The Outcome
You won't just leave with a notebook; you’ll leave with a Life Management Tool. A way to feel the full spectrum of your emotions, organise your thoughts, and keep moving forward with clarity, anytime, anywhere.
Two Generations. One Tool. Total Clarity.
Who is this for: Parents & your 16-18 year old teen
When: Tuesday, May 19, 6pm - 7:30pm
Where: Online, the link will be emailed out closer to the event
Investment: $60 per duo
What you'll need: A quiet spot, two journals, two pens, and a bit of curiosity.

About Ingrid
Ingrid Jones is a Journal Writing Facilitator, Life Coach, and educator. While she has always found writing to be cathartic, it was the discovery of a structured, step-by-step approach that truly transformed her practice… and her life.
For the past six years, Ingrid has shared this signature framework with individuals and organisations, turning the "blank page" from a daunting space into a powerful tool for emotional regulation and clarity. She believes journalling is one of the most accessible forms of self-therapy available, a way to clear the mental clutter, listen to your inner wisdom, and move forward with an open heart.
Bringing her background as a primary school teacher into her work, Ingrid is an expert at creating nurturing, emotionally safe environments. Her sessions provide the time and guidance needed to move thoughts from a cluttered mind onto the page, allowing participants to feel empowered by their own insights.
A hallmark of Ingrid’s work is her ability to build a strong sense of community. She creates a space where people can genuinely connect and share discoveries without ever being asked to read their private journal entries aloud.
“Seeing the transformation in participants during a single session never fails to amaze me,” Ingrid says. “I call these profound results ‘the shift.’ It’s what lights me up and inspires me to do this work every day.”
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a lifelong writer, Ingrid welcomes you to join her in making space for the thoughts that matter and finding the clarity to keep moving forward.

Lay It All Down Sound Bath & Guided Journaling, Saturday May 16
Ellen Blackman & Ingrid Jones. Elwood Angling Club, Elwood
There's a particular kind of tiredness that rest doesn't seem to touch. The kind that comes from giving too much, absorbing the weight of the world, and never quite finding the moment to stop and come back to yourself.
This afternoon is that moment.
Sound healer and yoga teacher Ellen Blackman joins journal facilitator and coach Ingrid Jones for two hours designed around one thing: you. We'll be creating a sanctuary for your nervous system.
Ingrid opens the afternoon with her signature journalling framework, a gentle, structured process that gives your swirling thoughts somewhere to land. Even if you've never journalled before, Ingrid removes all the guesswork. What tends to emerge surprises people. So does how much lighter they feel when they leave.
Ingrid opens the afternoon with her signature journalling framework a gentle, structured process that gives your swirling thoughts somewhere to land. There’s no guesswork or writing experience needed. Just a quiet moment to hear what’s underneath the noise and reconnect with your inner calm. What tends to emerge surprises people. So does how much lighter they feel when they leave.
Once we’ve found that clear, settled place, you’ll simply lie down. Ellen will then guide you through a restorative sound bath, using her voice, Tibetan and crystal bowls, vibration, and resonance. Wrapped in blankets, your body gets to do what it’s been waiting for: to simply receive. There is nothing you need to do other than get comfortable and let the sound do the rest.
Together, these two practices do something neither quite achieves alone. Journalling helps you hear what’s underneath, allowing the mind to return to a state of calm. The sound bath then allows you to integrate and process what you have been holding, finding true rest and nervous system regulation.
Two hours. Two practices. One rare afternoon to lay it all down.
Where: Elwood Angling Club, Elwood
When: Saturday 16th May, 2.30pm-4.30pm
Cost: $80 / $70 concession
Bring: A notebook and pen. A yoga mat and blankets for the sound bath.
