âIâll join a gym once I get a bit fitter.â
We hear this more often than you might think.
Especially from people in their 40s, 50s and 60s who haven't exercised properly in a while.
And on the surface, it makes perfect sense.
Walk a bit more.
Build some fitness.
Maybe lose a little confidence around how unfit you feel.
Then join the gym.
Except thereâs a problem.
The starting line keeps moving.
A few weeks becomes a few months.
And youâre still waiting to feel âreadyâ.
But you shouldn't need to get fit before working with a good coach.
Getting you fitter is the point of the coaching.
If you haven't exercised for yearsâŚ
If your knees aren't what they used to beâŚ
If you're stiffâŚ
Or you simply have no idea what you should be doing anymoreâŚ
You should be able to start from where your body is today.
A good trainer can understand your starting point, work around injuries or limitations, and gradually progress your training as you get stronger and more confident.
No keeping up with the fittest person in the room.
No proving yourself first.
No waiting until you're âfit enoughâ.
You donât need to arrive fit.
You just need to arrive.
If youâre around Fitzroy North and you've been thinking about getting back into exercise, send us âSTARTâ.
Weâll have a chat about where youâre at, explain how we can help, and you can decide whether it feels right for you.
