A special morning for the Berwick College Basketball Academy today ๐๐
For the first time in Academy history, student athletes from our Junior, Intermediate and Senior Girls programs shared the court together during morning training.
It was fantastic to see student athletes from across our girls pathway training side by side, supporting one another and continuing to build the strong culture within our Academy.
A really proud moment for our program and a great reflection of the talent, leadership and commitment within girls basketball at Berwick College.

Massive congratulations to:
๐ Seb Rault โ committed to Rogers State University

๐ Mitch Zeunert โ committed to Eastern Wyoming College
Three quality people who have put in years of work on and off the floor to earn these opportunities. Weโre incredibly proud to see all three take the next step in their basketball and academic journeys.
The whole Berwick College Basketball Academy community will be following along from back home. Excited to watch whatโs next.

VSSC Intermediate Tournament โ State Basketball Centre
Great to see so many of our Intermediate Boys and Girls teams competing on Monday at the State Basketball Centre across both Division 1 and Division 2 competitions.
The day gave all groups a chance to compete against strong opposition, continue building team chemistry and keep developing the offensive and defensive concepts weโve been working on throughout the term.
Across the day there was some great basketball played, plenty of improvement from game to game and most importantly a really strong attitude and effort from all teams involved.
These days are massive for the growth of our program and it was awesome seeing so many students representing the Academy and the College the right way.
Well done to all players who participated in a great day of basketball.

VSSC Intermediate Boys โ Nunawading Stadium
Last Thursday our Intermediate Boys team, made up of students from the 10.3 class, competed at the VSSC Tournament at Nunawading Stadium.
The boys had a really solid day against some strong opposition and it was great seeing them start to build and understand more of our offensive and defensive concepts in real game situations. You could see the growth across the day with the way they competed, communicated and adjusted from game to game.
These tournaments are massive for the development of our younger groups and the boys did a great job taking on feedback and trying to implement what weโve been working on at training.
Really proud of the way the group represented the Academy and the College throughout the day.

Senior VSSC Qualifying Day โ Jubilee Park, Frankston
A huge day for our Senior teams at the VSSC Qualifying Tournament with both our Senior Boys and Girls Division 1 teams advancing through to the State Finals.
The Senior Boys, made up entirely of Year 12 students due to the Year 11 Deb, were outstanding throughout the day going undefeated in pool play before facing a talented Flinders College team in the Grand Final. In a high-level game, the boys stayed composed and came away with a strong 35-28 win to qualify for the State Finals.
The Senior Girls Division 1 team had an up-and-down start to the day, dropping a couple of close games in the rounds before finding their rhythm at the right time. After suffering a convincing loss to Flinders College earlier in the day, the girls responded in the best possible way in the Grand Final.
Playing with great defensive intensity and smart offensive ex*****on, the girls fought their way back into the contest before hitting a clutch three-point shot late in the game to secure an incredible 29-26 win and book their place at the State Finals.
Two teams. Two State Finals appearances. Great reward for the work these groups continue to put in.

Big day out on Tuesday at the Basketball Victoria VSSC Tournament for our U15 teams. U15 Boys Division 1
Berwick Blue came out strong to open the day with a 37-28 win over Rowville in the shortened 10-minute half format. The boys then found ways to grind out two close wins against St Monicaโs Catholic (31-30) and Berwick White (21-17) before really finding their rhythm with a big 54-25 win over Templestowe College.
The boys carried that momentum into finals, defeating Luther College 48-25 in the semi final before meeting Rowville again in a tough, defensive Grand Final. In an up-and-down battle, the boys stayed composed late and held on for a 23-20 win to punch their ticket to the State Finals. Great effort boys.
U15 Girls Division 1
Huge credit to Mr. Davey, who has put an incredible amount of work into this group over the past three years, and it showed all day. The girls opened with wins over Lilydale High (21-13) and Rowville (20-15) before taking control through the middle rounds with strong wins against Berwick White, Luther College and Templestowe College.
A dominant defensive performance against Luther College in the semi final set up another showdown with Rowville in the Grand Final. After some tough battles with Rowville over recent years, the girls stood tall when it mattered most, making big plays late to secure a 22-16 win and also advance through to the State Finals.
We also had multiple Division 1 and Division 2 teams competing across both boys and girls divisions throughout the day. Every team represented the Academy and the College the right way, continuing to improve on the things weโve been building at training. Plenty to like from all groups.

The morning after.
The trophy is sitting a little differently today. So is the ticket to Singapore.
What this group achieved yesterday was about far more than just winning a championship. It was a moment for the entire Berwick College Basketball Academy, the school and the wider Berwick College community. A moment that reflected the work, commitment and support that goes on behind the scenes every single day.
This team represented the Academy exactly the way we hope our student athletes do โ together, connected and playing for something bigger than themselves.
The boys are incredibly grateful for the support shown throughout the weekend. To the staff, parents, family and friends who packed out the State Basketball Centre for the Grand Final, thank you. The atmosphere and energy you brought genuinely lifted the team. To everybody who watched online, sent messages, checked scores and supported from afar, the boys felt it all weekend.
These are the moments that make school sport special.
Singapore awaits.

GRAND FINAL BOUND.
The Berwick College boys are through to the Grand Final of the NBA Rising Stars Invitational Australian Qualifiers after a hard fought Semi Final win over Western Heights College this morning.
Now the focus shifts to a massive matchup against Templestowe College, who defeated Rowville in their Semi Final.
We need the entire Berwick College community behind the boys this afternoon as they fight for a chance to stamp their ticket to Singapore.
