A beautiful, potent afternoon of sharing, laughter, tears, and the kind of insights you only get when everyone drops the performance.
Here's what I love about EFT, it creates anย authentic foundation. The usual networking "mask" doesn't survive in that kind of space. And without it, the connection between the women was palpable.

I didn't even know about the until AFTER we finished tapping.
The little girl is just 5, and had been stuck in a loop. Thereโs the run-of-the-mill issues around โregulationโ.
๐นThereโs sleep, taking ages to fall asleep and needing umpteenth cuddles.
๐นThereโs social anxiety at school - her parents were concerned about her behaviour around this, and how she shows up at home from the aftermath at school.
๐นAnd then the child does not know how to express her internal โfeelingsโ, but instead it comes out in a manner that feels like masking to cover up what's really going on.
Her parents had tried so many different things. ๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐๐ญ๐๐.
But we tapped on ๐ฐ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฐ๐๐ฌ ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ก - the emotional angst has a shared source, the subconscious doesn't separate problems into different categories!
So we tapped.
And my 5-yr old client did not sit still.
๐She played with her horse on a stick,
๐swiveled around in her chair,
๐repeating the scripted statements after me but only tapping along sometimes,
๐ started sucking on her recorder and waving it like a magic wand ๐ช
And in the days that followed? That stubborn block dissipated. (Note: I'm not sharing the block because of the sensitive nature)
โค๏ธBut my point is, the block unravelled itself not because we attacked it, but because we unhooked what was under it.
โค๏ธAnd not only that, this 5โyearโold started selfโtapping to soothe herself, she remembers the tapping points and does the sequence!
โค๏ธZuzka, her mum, shared this with meโฆ"Yesterday I was a bit stressed, I was doing deep breathing. And she started tapping on her own head."
So, when a practitioner steps in to help - calm, attuned, unattached to the outcome - the subconscious listens. Even at 5 years old.
It requires trust, openness and being willing to receive help.
One session changed the trajectory of this family's sanity, and connection. Thereโs still more work to go, but weโre already well on our way.

And that's why, positive thinking and affirmations don't work.
They don't work on top of a bed of anxiety,
Of well-oiled, survival programs you've created since you were a kid/teenager, that's been running for decades!
There's so much evidence collection
And a positive thought, against that, has little chance of winning.
So, you tap, you meditate, you journal
But soon enough you'll sense the entrenched patterns, the stuckness, the immovable mountain.
Driving you forward towards the same predicament.

It's a nervous system reset.
She gets to hold space for new opportunities differently, now.
She's no longer a flurry of rumination
Drowning in her own thoughts
Extrapolating to umpteenth scenarios
You know those episodes where:
You're manic
You're spiralling
Head is spinning
Breathing is shallow
Even feeling dizzy ๐ต
Some say you have to "allow" and "receive".
Those positive thoughts have no credibility against your subconscious. Your super-computer eats those thoughts for breakfast!
And when your mental bandwidth can't even hold down sleep, opportunities just won't show up around your space either. Because the attachment, desperation & scrambling repels, not attracts!
So when my client reached out months ago
We started grounding her nervous system
What showed up wasn't better strategies
What showed up was what she thought of herself, deeply.
The beliefs grounded in childhood
The beliefs that made sense then but doesn't serve now
The beliefs that aim to protect, not have you flourish or thrive.

Accommodation booked and paid for, it was meant to be a golf tournament on Sunday for our son. It's a 2hr drive here, with a 8am tee-off, so it made sense to stay the night before.
But his cold he caught a few days ago decided to get worse yesterday.
So, we withdrew him this morning at 7am. The exertion of 18 holes + competition pressure would have been too much, although he could still practice. I also made my son follow a tapping round with me, so that we've taken care of any emotional factors underneath his ailment. Surprisingly, he followed along willingly.
We enjoyed our breakfast that was included in our booking, got a late check out, went to see a heritage homestead in Geelong, and still turned up at the golf course to mingle with other parents we know after the end of the tournament.
Then we rocked up to a winery, still got a table despite no booking, and had a late lunch right by the fireplace.
His cold is so much better only because we gave him the time to rest, despite the disappointment...
And it turned out to be a fabulous Mother's Day day!

I was already tearing up in the change room before Bikram.
Had chatted with the yoga teacher about what's been going on for me. An inner childhood issue reactivated back in Feb and I've been in the thick of working through aspects of it.
Then Monday, a pretty huge tapping session with another practitioner.
I'm still processing.
So there I am, tears down my face, when someone starts chatting to me. I respond, but briefly explain the crying.
Not knowing what I do for a living, she says...

Eventually she finds out I unhook childhood trauma for a living. And that right now, I'm just consolidating from my own processing.
Here's the thing people forget - ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง ๐ ๐๐๐ง'๐ญ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญโ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ง ๐จ๐ซ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญโ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐โ๐ญ๐๐ฉ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ฌ. Let alone pointing to the "think positive/reframe" culture vs real somatic work.

My trigger already happened before I had time to think, or even feel into it.
