Another entertaining game for our Senior Men this weekend, with the boys coming away deserved 4-3 winnersβ€”but they certainly made us earn it!

We controlled the first half well and, with patience and quality on the ball, took a deserved 2-0 lead into the break. The second half started the same way as we extended the lead to 3-0 and looked to be cruising.

However, a penalty to the opposition midway through the half completely shifted the momentum. A lapse in composure allowed them to fight their way back and level the scores, setting up a tense finish.

Thankfully, the lads found one more gear when it mattered most, scoring a late winner to seal all three points.

Special mention to John Mathet for bagging his first hat-trick of the season. Well done lad.

Our Senior Men are on the road this Saturday as they face off against ETA Buffalo.

The last encounter ended in a draw, with Buffalo proving tough to break down defensively.

Can the lads find a way through the Buffalo wall this time? We wish them the best πŸ’šπŸ–€

A bittersweet draw for our Senior Men after showing great character to fight back, only to concede a late equaliser.
We were well below our best in the first half and struggled to deal with the opposition's aggressive pressure, going into the break trailing 2–1.
A tactical adjustment and a much better mindset completely changed the game. The lads turned it around to lead 3–2 and created several great chances to put the result beyond doubt.
Unfortunately, a late goal was conceded after we stopped expecting the referee to rule that the ball had gone out. It's a tough lesson, but as the saying goes, play to the whistle.
Despite the disappointment, it's now four games unbeaten for the boys, and we'll be looking to keep that run going next week. πŸ’šπŸ–€

That's 3 in a row for the lads! πŸ’šπŸ–€
A 3–0 win on Saturday but it wasn't as comfortable as the scoreline suggests.

We made the most of the strong wind in the first half, controlling the game and playing almost exclusively in our attacking half. Our pressure paid off with a deserved lead at the break.

The second half was a completely different challenge as the wind picked up dramatically, allowing the opposition to bombard us with long balls. The boys defended resolutely, limiting them to only a few opportunities from set pieces, before putting the game beyond doubt with two late goals.

A special mention and congratulations to Albert Kasanga on scoring our first hat-trick of the season. πŸ‘βš½ξ€€

Our first season in Men's Masters football has certainly been an adventure and a great learning experience.

The quality of the league was higher than we initially expected, and it took us some time to adjust and find our feet. However, over the course of the season, we've continued to improve, become more competitive, and most importantly, really started to enjoy the challenge.

A great result for our Senior Men's side, who claimed a deserved 3-2 victory over Greenvale United.

The boys took the lead in the first half after capitalising on a loose ball and were rewarded for a strong start by doubling the advantage with a well-earned second goal. However Greenvale managed to pull one back just before the break from a set-piece delivery.

The second half started much like the first, with our lads causing all sorts of problems with their pace and movement in attack. Their efforts were rewarded with a third goal midway through the half, restoring our two-goal cushion. It looked more likely that we'd score a fourth, but a miskick at the back gifted the opposition a lifeline.

That set up a nervy final 15 minutes, with Greenvale launching wave after wave of long balls into the box. However, the boys stood tall, and held on for a thoroughly deserved win.

Well done, lads. A huge three points.

Full Time: Wyndham FC 6 - 4 Old Trinity

What a crazy game of football!

The boys produced one of their most organised and disciplined performances of the season, racing out to a commanding 6-0 lead and looking in complete control.

However, a couple of forced substitutions late in the match, combined with an injury to our goalkeeper, destabilised the side and left us to battle the final 15 minutes with just 10 men.

Old Trinity fully capitalised on the situation, scoring four late goals to make the final scoreline much closer than the match itself reflected.

An outstanding 75 minutes of football, followed by a disappointing final 20. Plenty to learn from, but we'll gladly take the three points! πŸ’š
