๐ A Very Special Milestone ๐
What a fantastic moment this weekend, as Mike Jansen was recognised for an incredible 700 games for the Bucks. An achievement that speaks volumes about longevity, commitment, and a genuine love for the game.
It was great to see both teams take the time to acknowledge the milestone before play, with the ECA President presenting Mike with a certificate to mark the occasion. True to form, Mike was humble as ever, sharing his appreciation for the club, his teammates, and the game thatโs given him so much over the years.
Milestones like these are what community cricket is all about.

๐ Weekend Wrap ๐
The 1st XI wrapped up day two of their match against Trinity Willison, with Trinity ultimately chasing down the 167 required. Despite the result, there was plenty of fight highlighted by a great bowling effort from Brad, who finished with 3 wickets, including a great caught and bowled.
The 2nd XI delivered a huge performance, getting off to a flying start with openers Aaron and Sendu putting on a massive 150-run partnership. Aaron finished with a classy 74, while Sendu retired on a brilliant 101. Raam added some quick runs with 33 to help get them to 239 then backed it up with a handy 3 wickets. The bowlers continued the job, dismissing Clifton Hill for 198 to secure a 41-run win, with overs still in hand.
With only 2 weeks left in the season, make sure you get around both sides with the 2nd XI at home this weekend ๐ช

๐ Weekend Wrap ๐
The 1st XI kicked off their two-day match against Trinity Willison and showed great resilience after a shaky start at 3/21. Peter Jansen and Jimmy Young steadied the innings with an impressive 100-run partnership, standing tall against some very sharp bowling and fielding. Pete led the way with a classy 78, while Jimmy contributed a valuable 34. The innings was capped off in style by the Big Show, Andrew Jones, who came in late and provided a quick-fire 23 off 15 balls, helping the side post a competitive 7/163 heading into next week.
The 2nd XI unfortunately went down to Heathmont, but there were still plenty of positives. Aaron Manoharan continued his strong season with a brilliant 52, his third half-century of the year. Adding to the highlights, Nick and Senthur both picked up their first wickets for the Bucks, a great milestone moment for both lads ๐
Plenty to build on as we head into next weekend, get around the teams and support the Bucks.

๐ MILESTONE MOMENT FOR MICHAEL JANSEN ๐
A huge congratulations to Michael Jansen, who brought up his 1300th career wicket last weekend. This is an incredible achievement and a testament to years of consistency, skill and competitiveness in the Bucks colours.
As if that wasnโt enough, he now sits on 21 wickets for the season, just one wicket behind the competition leader ๐ช
We may not have a photo of the milestone delivery itself, but we did manage to dig up a photo of one of his signature one-handed sixes instead.
Plenty to play for as we head into this weekendโs games with the Bucks looking to fight their way into finals. Get around the teams and come down to support if you can!

๐ Last Weekโs Results
It was a tough one for both sides last week.
The 1st XI went down by just a few runs in a tight finish, with the game decided in the final over. Michael Jansen was outstanding with the ball, finishing with an impressive 5/43 off 8 overs. With the bat, Peter Jansen (37) and Damien de Ryk (33) both put on valuable runs, but unfortunately it wasnโt quite enough to get the job done.
The 2nd XI produced a solid bowling effort to dismiss Glen Iris for 147, putting themselves right in the contest. Despite a fighting 34 runs from one of our new fill-ins, the side couldnโt quite chase the total down.

A few of the Bucks got down to Hitz Cricket Australia for an epic indoor net session last night ๐๐ฅ
The lads were able to fully customise the setup including choosing bowling types, speeds, variations and even setting their own fields before facing a full 20 overs each.
Plenty of fun was had but it was also a great chance to work on game awareness, decision-making and handling different conditions without the pressure of match day.
